About this listen
Nathan Byrn is running again. The Alliance of Free Witches has been all but destroyed. Scattered and demoralised, constantly pursued by the Council's Hunters, only a bold new strategy can save the rebels from total defeat. They need the missing half of Gabriel's amulet - an ancient artifact with the power to render its bearer invincible in battle.
But the amulet's guardian - the reclusive and awesomely powerful witch Ledger - has her own agenda. To win her trust, Nathan must travel to America and persuade her to give him the amulet. Combined with his own Gifts, the amulet might just be enough to turn the tide for the Alliance and end the bloody civil war between Black and White witches once and for all....

I love this book, a perfect ending to the trilogy. Brilliantly written and narration is so well done. Highly recommended. Sad it's ended now.

Such a sad end!
I wanted so much for Nathan to be happy and live in peace after all he'd been through. But, then I suppose he did the only thing he could.
Such a shame the trilogy is done. Maybe there'll be a book about Edge. Hopefully!

Best listen in a long time
This series has been phenomenal. It has grown with each book and developed fantastically. Each character has depth and the world drew me in straight away. Also fantastic narration throughout.

A must read…
I really enjoyed the whole series and the narration was excellent! While it wasn’t the ending I wanted, it was the ending that was needed. Beautifully written and a must read!

Great performance
This has been one of my favourite audio books. The story is very good but the performance by Carl is excellent. He is my new favourite narrator. the use of sound effects in this book also was brilliant.

Half relieved
Trials and tribulations continue for our troubled protagonist, some good things too and a rapidly encountered finale which came as a surprise to me, but was right. He isn't a nice, loveable hero but somehow our sympathies do lie with him. I would have been happy for the series to continue, but it clearly won't and that's OK too. This is the last of the three books in the series and I'm half relieved it's over, half sad. I bought the first book when Audible offered it as a Daily Discount. It grabbed me by the ears despite the somewhat disturbing first chapters. I simply HAD to read the following two books after finishing it. This is the pleasure of finding a new author by accident, and I'm pleased to have found Sally Green. Carl Prekopp is a fine narrator and can voice many different accents convincingly (a lovely genuine Aussie one is of note). A well deserved 4 star listen for those who enjoy realities a little different to this one.

Contains spoiler!
I sped through this trilogy, back to back. The writing is superb, the pace of the story is never lost and the narration is perfect. Carl Prekopp is one of my favourite narrators. My only down point is that it made me cry like a baby! Heartbroken.

Loved every minute
I have listened to all three of the books and have enjoyed every single word. Every chapter was wonderful and turns and twists to keep you guessing. Narration is beautiful and kept the story real, and so so moving.......can only hope there is more
