About this listen
Detective Orlando Trovatelli is a glutton for punishment when it comes to matters of the heart, and not even his shifter instincts can keep him on course.
It’s bad enough that he has feelings for the Vampire Queen, who is mated to one of the most powerful males of the Tehrex Realm, but then he falls for Jaidis, a mated cambion. He clings to the pathetic excuse that Jaidis’ mate is abusing her, and the Goddess will reconsider and give Jaidis to Orlando in the end.
He learns how wrong he is the night he arrives at Jaidis’ house to find her lying in a pool of her own blood while struggling to save her unborn baby. Orlando is prepared to move heaven and earth to save Jaidis’ life, but ultimately all he can guarantee Jaidis is that he will protect her unborn son.
Struggling with his new responsibilities, Orlando isn’t prepared to deal with the aftermath of the new archdemons. With his Omega on one side of the fence and Zander on the other, Orlando is forced to choose between his loyalty to the Dark Warriors and disclosing their existence to humans.
After everything Orlando has been through, he questions the Goddess and whether his faith in her has been in vain.

Compelling, fun and interesting!
I got this audiobook via a promo code and this is my voluntary review.
This book is a solo paranormal romance with a happy ending that is a part of a larger series with shared characters. You can read each book as a standalone. Though I recommend you read them in order so you fully understand the overall series storyline and main characters. On a personal note, I do feel Less emphasis should be put on trying to hook a reader into purchasing the next book and more concentration should be placed on developing the current plot. I definitely think this story did suffer because of it.
Orlando, a cat shifter, police officer, and Dark Warrior, is finally able to get past his desire to the wedded vampire queen in this instalment of the series. He is now pulled to a very pregnant, abused, and mated cambion.
Elsie foresees that the cambion's unborn child is in danger, so Orlando rushes to the house and discovers a dead man and a woman who is pregnant and is bleeding profusely. Her final request is for Orlando to look after and raise Brantley.
Orlando, who is grieving, hardly notices Ember, the new CSI, a cat shifter, but she notices him.
The narrator did a fantastic job of breathing life into this book and making this a fun and entertaining read.

Will Orlando get his true Fated Mate?
Finally another Dark Warrior Alliance book.
I was so happy to see another audiobook in the dark warrior alliance series - I had worried no more were coming.
We finally get to see Orlando's story - the poor guy - falling for your friends mate, then possibly meeting his mate - but she's married to someone else.
This story has some bumps along the way for Orlando and Ember.
I was worried after reading some other reviews that I would hate this book especially Ember- I didn't. Ember is a strong female who knows what she wants and who she wants and what she believes. Orlando has other responsibilities, will they be able to work things out, be together, be mated?
Another great book in the series. Plenty of HOT HOT spice to keep me dreaming and warm.

Not quite as good as the others in the book
Orlando's story was good but not on the same level as the previous books. Ember is actually an interesting and strong character. I enjoy her strength and personality. I liked that she was a warrior of sorts herself. Sadly she isn't as well received by the Dark Warrior mates, namely Elsie. I felt this part of the story was underdeveloped. I wasn't quite clear, even at the end of the book, why Elsie didn't like Ember.
Orlando came off as quite weak as well, quite different from how he was previously portrayed. I am looking forward to Angus and Kiera's story though. We catch snippets of it through this book.
This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

Orlando
Orlando is one miserable dude after many things seem to be going wrong especially since he seems to always for the wrong women. In this story he becomes an instant dad, finds his fated, struggles lots with that but eventually comes to terms with it. Then has to deal with his fated not being prepared to meet him at the halfway mark and compromising on somethings. In the end all works out and a happy medium is found. I’m glad Orlando finally found his now we only have a few more characters to find their fated and then all will be good.
