Except it turns out it's hard to keep an au pair on staff when Inga's expectations tower higher than the Alps. Exercises, punctuality, and rigor grind down even the best candidates.

When Sadie arrives at Inga's doorstep, her fate seems clear. She'll be sacked like the rest of them, inadequate in the face of precise demands. Except something about Sadie's warm smile and caring green eyes makes Inga falter. Though the two diverge in their approaches to life, maybe this time, it's different.

One of my all time favourite audiobooks. Beautifully written, tender and sexy as hell. Gabra Zackman, my goodness you have a gorgeous voice. This book does nothing to help my Sound of Music fantasies... 😃 ...and damn, who is that lady on the cover!?! ...Mutter 😍

Similar to other reviewers, I too was reminded of Sound of Music in the first half of the book; the setting, the closed off single parent and militant routine for the children. However, it’s a relatively short book which meant that the story went at a good pace and the story improved. It could have done with another paragraph or two to really give the reader an understanding of how these two make it in the future.
Narrator was great, very sultry!

we all love a happy ending and with this in mind this audio is predictable in a good way. The narrator is super good, sultry and endearing. The only down side was the story seemed rushed at the end , winding up in the last 30 minutes. The book needed to be another hour longer because the listener was a bit short changed re the conclusion.

I loved this book, the storyline, the characters, the narration it was great.. It was a really easy listen that I was looking foward to continue each time

I didn't particularly enjoy the first half of this novel as I was reminded a little too much of The Sound of Music - there was even some singing! I preferred the second half as things began to gel a bit for the characters.
