About this listen
For Jamal Doctor, growing up on 147 street "grandma's house" wasn't entirely bad but it wasn't good either. He learned firsthand what drugs and entitlement can do to a family.
In 1025 Blacksheep, he shares his life story.
Born and raised in South Jamaica Queens, Jamal Doctor lived a life of revolving emotions. This is a revelatory tale of how he realized the hard truth of being the “black sheep” of the family. The obstacles he faced and the lack of support from his family and how much harder life was because of it. Learning to navigate family relationships while always being the one in the wrong was taxing mentally and physically. Being loyal and loving to a family that never loved him became his cross to bear.
