About this listen
The 1st novel in James Patterson's Women's Murder Club series. As the only woman homicide inspector in San Francisco, Lindsay Boxer has to be tough. But nothing she has seen prepares her for the horror of the honeymoon murders, when a brutal maniac begins viciously slaughtering newlywed couples on their wedding nights. Lindsay is sickened by the deaths, but her determination to bring the murderer to justice is threatened by her own personal tragedy. So she turns to Claire, a leading coroner, Cindy, a journalist and Jill, a top attorney, for help with both her crises, and the Women's Murder Club is born.

Great narrator!
Entertaining and fast moving story - I’ll definitely listen to the others in the series. The characters are likeable and the plot, whilst far fetched, was pacy and kept my attention. I REALLY liked Pat Star’s narration. It was very conversational. She is now one of my favourites along with Colin Mace, Hugh Fraser and David Suchet. A decent narrator makes all the difference, even with an average book.

great story, odd narration.
A murder mystery full of twists and turns, romantic dalliances and death a plenty. A good balance of character story to mystery content to make me feel a connection to the character but keep me interested in the crime.
the narration was a little odd, with prolonged pauses in unlikely places and some very loud gulping towards the end. however if you can overlook that it was a good listen.

Great story terrible narration
The book was gripping which is why I listened until the end but the narrator!! Her story telling was super but her wet sounding voice and slurps were dreadful - totally irritating and distracting- I can’t bear to download book 2 as it’s the same narrator!

Very annoying narrator
Would you try another book written by James Patterson or narrated by Pat Star?
I would try another book but not by Pat Star. She would put me off getting the audio book
Who was your favorite character and why?
Lindsey Boxer.
Who might you have cast as narrator instead of Pat Star?
I really like Susan Ericksen who does the In Death series by J.D.Robb.
If this book were a film would you go see it?
Yes
Any additional comments?
I have read the paperback book to this, years ago, and thought would like to listen again but the Narrator has been really off putting. With swallowing, sighing and everything very annoying.

Story Good, Narration enfuriating
The Story line was great lots of twists and turns and good complex characters The Narration was not to my taste! I found the wet swallowing noises rather frustrating and rather gross. Should have been dubbed out!

Great book watch with the narrator mouth noises
Really good book, great story, but the narrator seems to make an awful lot of noise with a mouth and all the heavy breathing it be less annoying if she ate while reading the book
