I, as bad as I hate to admit it, like many people have trouble sometimes with how I act in relationships. This book has opened my eyes to a lot about relationships that I was missing. It's not that I was being toxic per se, but they are some "bad habits". This book is helping me identify and change them. It also gives great tips for building better friendships and improving family relationships. I just think overall, this book is a great source of help, really for anybody who is interested in improving relationships in all aspects of their life and living a less stressful, happier life.

I’ve been working on becoming less reactive and more present, and this audiobook really helped me focus on building emotional intelligence in everyday moments. I started catching my own patterns of toxic self-talk and recognizing where I was feeding negativity without meaning to. It’s been empowering to shift gears with actual mindfulness instead of just reading about it.

I didn’t realize how much my reactions were hurting my relationships until I started this. The day by day format made it manageable, and each step actually pushed me to reflect and shift how I respond to people. It wasn’t always easy to hear, but it felt honest and real. By the end, I felt calmer, more in control, and way less reactive. If you’re ready to take responsibility and actually change, this is a solid place to start.

I didn’t think I was the problem—until I started listening. This audiobook held up a mirror in a way that felt real instead of preachy. Each day gave me something small to try, and some of it hit harder than I expected. I started recognizing the habits I had brushed off before. It’s helped me take responsibility without spiraling into guilt. The section on Emotional Intelligence was gold - I learned a lot about my Sage. If you’re ready to stop pointing fingers and actually grow, this one’s worth your time.

More than anything, this book opens your eyes to how your actions, however big or small, can affect other people in unexpected ways. Everyone is fighting their own battle and it's so important to be aware of that as you interact with everyone in your life. By listening to this audiobook, you'll start being more conscious of the battles faced by others, and in turn become more aware of the effects your actions will have on them. This is the first step to becoming a better person.

(From the author): “The dynamics that shape (meaningful relationships) often arise from deep-seated patterns, many rooted in early childhood attachment, past interactions, or internalized beliefs. When these patterns become toxic and interfere with your present connections, it becomes crucial to pause, reflect, and reassess the scripts you operate by.” That paragraph just about sums up this book’s aim: to improve your relationships by addressing the toxic patterns that live deep inside you and influence your actions and reactions—mainly subconsciously. The book uses specific tools such as daily exercises, worksheets and meditations to help the listener discover their deep-seated emotions that are guiding their actions, and change these behaviors to break the toxicity cycle.
Tools include “Shadow Work” (diving into thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that you typically hide or ignore) and “Somatic Therapy” (focusing on body sensations, movements, and emotions to find past traumas that might be stored in the body and influence our thoughts and actions). The author does a great job at helping us recognize what’s causing our toxic attitudes so we can use that knowledge to build better, stronger and more positive relationships. Worth the listen.

This book made me take a good look at myself. Now I can see that my behavior was causing problems in my relationships. Instead of looking smart and quick-witted, I think I was more annoying than anything else. The plan in the book seems like it will be easy to follow, and it will make me stop and think before I react. If I can learn to be more patient, maybe I'll appear less caustic.. The book made me feel that change is possible if I take small steps every day. I would definitely recommend it to others.

I was stuck repeating the same toxic patterns with my partner and friends. I felt trapped in arguments that never really solved anything. Hitting play on this audiobook felt like a safe place to explore why I kept snapping and shutting down. Day by day, I noticed simple exercises that actually fit my busy mornings- no extra jargon or fancy psychology talk. By the end of week two, I was catching myself before reacting and setting boundaries without feeling guilty. My closest friend even told me I sounded more calm on our calls. Now, I can finally say I’m connecting instead of colliding. If you want real steps without the fluff, this guide has your back.
