About this listen
Millie Miller has always dreamed of living by the ocean. Now that her children have flown the coop, as an empty nester, she’s decided to sell her house to buy a condo only a mile from the beach in Oceanside, California.
While walking her two dogs, Rosie and Daisy, Millie stumbles into a mystery after her pups find a body in the bushes. Frightened by the possibility that one of her new neighbors might be a murderer, Millie ignores the handsome police detective’s advice to mind her own business and decides to do some well-needed snooping.

So much fun!
This book is delightful and oh so much fun. I love the characters, especially Millie, she is so relatable with her snooping and her sweet, but naughty dogs. The book is brilliantly narrated by Cathy Crosman.

Barking good
I enjoyed this book. The only reason it got four stars from me is because of the length, as it was fairly short this meant there wasn't anything to solve, no real suspects or clues to piece together. The main character didn't really investigate, instead the listener was treated to a day in the life of the main character as she went out on a date, walked her dogs, spoke to her new neighbours and asked a few questions. She then stumbled on the killer. Somehow this actually worked and it was a fun light listen and give got a few chuckles out of me. I think the reason it worked is because the author created a down to earth main character that was likeable and easy to relate too.
Millie decides with the last of her children off to college, she wants to live close to the beach, so she lacks up her two cats and two dogs for a new adventure. Only she gets more than she bargained for when on the first day in her new apartment her boisterous dogs stumble over the dead body of one of the home owners association members. One that wasn't well liked. Unable to settle and feel safe in her apartment, Millie can't help but ask her new neighbours a few questions. Maybe by doing so she will not only help her writers block but also find a killer.
I liked the narrator. She had a pleasant voice and her laid back style was right for the characters.

bushes
loved the narration from Cathy Crosman, who brings the characters, humour and mystery to your ears.
Mystery writer Millie is now following her dreams, her children have left home and it is her time. Having bought a condo near the beach. All is good until going walking with her dogs , that is when a body in the bushes. With her natural investigation nature she can not help but want to know who and why. Handsome police detective Juan tells her to leave it alone. But Millie can not, with her best Jess going through a divorce, Millie's life turns even more crazy.
We have a cosy mystery, with humour and full of great characters, lets not forget some gorgeous dogs.
