I know next to nothing when it comes to Portugal, I love learning about the history of other countries and Portugal has such a rich history dating back to 5500bc 2022ad. I love the areas Prehistoric Portugal, The Visigoths And The Moors, Order Of Aviz, And The Rise of Portugal.

Overall, I love what I learned and this is one audiobook that will stay with me for a long time. I would recommend that anyone interested in Portugal to listen to this audiobook, you will not be disappointed. Great Job!

I've travelled through Portugal a number of times and some of the cities can be confusing - they feel like they are still stuck some time in the past. It also always baffled me how temperamental some of my friends there are. I feel like I understand both issues better now. It is true that we are all shaped by our histories and this book shows you exactly how a country's history influences its present. Highly recommended!

I enjoyed this book as it started from the Neanderthal times, and smoothly transitioned between the eras to show the achievement, leaders, politics, and events that happened during each era. I found the section on the Golden Age very interesting and I discovered so much while being entertained. The narrator delivers the information in an engaging way and the information is well-researched.

We are going on holiday to Portugal this year and was interested in finding out more about the country and came across this audible. An amazing history which is well narrated and really interesting. The most fascinating periods of history for me where chapters 8 and 9 - I can't believe that all happened! Highly recommended.

There is nothing more fascinating to me than history, I had a huge fan if history more towards England's rich history and Russia but recently after a visit to Portugal I realized how rich it is in history and decided to give myself some time to learn and understand this beautiful country, that when I fell into this majestic audiobook, that is PACKED with information and history about Portugal.

The author does a great job covering the beginnings of the country to now in a very short brief and concise matter and the narrator does a great job at reading the book.

I have starred this book in my library and will recommend to all my historians out there!

I’ve always known that there was something special about Portugal; this book has clarified that reason for me. I visited the country a few times and I was amazed by the country’s lush terrain and its friendly and welcoming people. This audiobook explores the rich history of this fascinating country starting from the Neanderthal times.

It was lovely to hear and see how this country which had such a troubled past has shown resilience and has become the attraction that it is today. I really love the engaging tone of the narrator which is a fitting companion to the deep level of research that clearly went into this book.

I really appreciate this brief history of Portugal. I now understand the connection I felt with the country and look forward to re-visiting shortly.
