About this listen
The beautiful and vivacious daughter of a wealthy landowner, Gemma Adamson has no shortage of suitors. Their appeal, however, is limited, and sister Amanda despairs until a chance meeting between Gemma and David Gray, an attractive if 'unsuitable' bachelor. Because his background does not conform with their ideals, the Adamsons warn Gemma against him, but she refuses to listen, until unpleasant truths from David's past life challenge even her loyalty. And they are only the beginning. A sequence of bewildering and frightening events follow, leading Gemma into the ugly world of drugs. Caught in a nightmare of fear and heartache, she soon discovers that hers is a dangerous love.

My first audible listen, a gentle introduction
Where does A Dangerous Love rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
It's the only one I've listen to!
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
The whole storyline was fairly predictable, rich girl meets unacceptable suitor, as far as her upper class parents are concerned & falls in love. The title suggested all would not go smoothly. Nothing surprised me, a predictable ending.
Which character – as performed by Mary Phillips – was your favourite?
David Gray who wasn't from a privileged background unlike the two sisters. A female voice for this character could have been comical, but it worked.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
I felt some sympathy for Gemma when David did his "disappearing act".
Any additional comments?
Mary Phillips has a very easy & interesting flow to her voice & her plummy accent particularly suited the characters of Gemma & Amanda.
