Summary
Based on the writings of The XIV Dalai Lama of Tibet, A Sacred Life traces the journey of this humble leader from the time he left his home as a child through his escape from Tibet to the winning of the Nobel Prize in 1989. This Charkha audiobook, with its divine soundtrack and narrative, reveals the compassion and optimism of this great emissary of peace. Through the compelling voices of Rajiv Mehrotra and Shernaz Patel, the listener accompanies the Dalai Lama on his quest for peace and achieving universal responsibility. The gentle Buddhist chants and the background score by 3 Brothers & a Violin lift, lilt and enhance the experience of this remarkable story.

A Must Listen
You don't have to be a Buddhist to see the love and kindness that is HH Dalai Lama and this short listen is a really good little insight to who he is and what he has had to endure due to the chinese illegal occupation of Tibet.
I highly recommend

An interesting book
I really enjoyed listening to this brief history of the Dalai Lama's life and could quite easily have listened to more.

Beautiful & very moving.
This was a blink of an eye insight to the extraordinary life of the wonderful Dalai Lama.
The accompanying music complemented very well and was not at all intrusive.
The Dalai Lama has so much to teach all humanity, but above all his compassion, humility and acceptance of life events and how to live that acceptance without any loss of hope for a better resolution is invaluable. All the more in our time following the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
This small snapshot has encouraged me to now listen to The Biography by Alexander Norman.

A really nice little book
The sound effects and music really add to this book. Narration is really well done and the man sounds similar to The Dalai Lama which is nice. You can finish this in one sitting and it's definitely worth it!

What a delight!
This audiobook, which was free from Audible Plus, was an absolute delight. It is read beautifully with lovely soothing music between each reading. The description of the taking over of Tibet by the Chinese and the lies told by the Chinese to the world and to their own people has a precise echo in what is happening now in the Ukraine. The Dalai Lama’s decency and compassion throughout the suffering of his people is a comfort and inspiration for all of us going through our private trials. Very highly recommended. May the Dalai Lama be with us for a very, very long time because he is needed.
