About this listen

Q: Why is your wife in a wheelchair?

A: Because she can't walk.

Q: Why were you ironing in the nude anyway?
A: No wait, I can explain...

Q: Why would this happen to you?
A: Why wouldn't it?

People ask the silliest things.

But for Jade and John Reynolds it's the silence surrounding disability that's the strangest of all.

When Jade unexpectedly suffered from a rare condition which left her paralysed and in a wheelchair at the age of twelve, she never imagined that she'd one day meet her husband John and that together they would take to social media to dispel the stigma surrounding disability, one story at a time.

From questions about suffering and sex to family and faith, Jade and John speak honestly and humorously about life as an inter-able couple. And here, they bring together the big questions (and big jokes) that have made them so popular online onto the page in a debut book that will help you reframe your hardship into reasons to hope.

It's time to discover that no matter what life throws at you, you are truly, able to laugh.

I love how real and honest you both are.. motherhood didn't go exactly as I planned for me, although different circumstances, its so relatable to hear Jade talk about motherhood.
And John talking about his Adhd! the way you both address and explain things I find so easy to follow along with which is something I can struggle with when just listening. (I'm one that usually watches a podcast you know?) but I find it easy to visualise and picture what you are saying and I think from following you both for a while know, definitely helped picture you both talking and expressions etc, it was like you were both just talking to me about your life story, almost like I could have been in a conversation with you both. loved it ❤️

I truly loved hearing you both tell your story seperate and together ❤️

An honest account of how life can change but through faith and determination it does not mean life is over . As a Christian with multiple chronic health conditions I found this refreshing , funny , thought provoking but also inspired and blessed to hear a Christian approach to living with disability / chronic illness

Wow !

A real and honest life story. Jade and John are so personable, you feel like you know them. An insightful glimpse into a life with disability and the encouragement of Gods faithfulness throughout. Jade presents her faith in a real but non threatening way, showing respect for all, regardless of beliefs. As a squeamish individual there were a couple of times I had to pause the story while driving with some of the more graphic accounts of injury!!
Thank you Jade and John for sharing your story :)

Amazing story of faith and perseverance

Started off great with some interesting and funny stories. Became boring and repetitive about half way through.

Ok

this book is OK but a bit boring, given the name able to laugh is a bit over rated, I guess if your not in this kind of relationship it's an eye opener but if you are then it's just every day life for carers

it's was ok
