This isn't something I would normally like but i was swept along with it. Good narration,some lively and funny characters so surprisingly I really enjoyed it.

Loved the hero and heroine who find themselves caught up in the Spanish / English conflict during the reign of Elizabeth 1st. I like the fact that the personal stories, whilst important, do not overshadow the carefully wrought battle scenes. It looks like the author, previously unknown to me, knows her history and I love the details of Elizabethan ships and weaponry.
Thoroughly recommend if you like a bit of history with your romance.

Excellent swashbuckling romance with the thrill of battle thrown in.
