Summary
Explore the rise of Adolf Hitler.
Was Hitler, as Ian Kershaw asked, a natural consequence of German history, or an aberration? Not that Hitler had been in hiding, waiting to attack. The Führer had actually been following an aggressive and savage foreign policy for almost 10 years, and been named Man of the Year by Time magazine in 1938.
This is not an audiobook about World War II, but about the man, Adolf Hitler, one of the faces and names that still arouse the strongest feelings - repulsion, resentment, and even fanaticism - but one who also had a childhood and a youth, a father and a mother. It is the road to madness - beginning that day in August of 1934 when he took over absolute power and ordered allegiance and loyalty to him alone - that this book is about.
Some of the topics covered in this audiobook include:
- Hitler's origins
- His inception
- The anti-Semitic capital of Europe
- Munich
- First World War
- Hitler's ascension
- Mein Kampf
- His downfall
- The remains of Adolf Hitler
- And a great deal more that you don't want to miss out on!

Excellent!
This book dives deep into the life of Adolf Hitler. It explores his family origins and the life that led up to him becoming the ruler of Germany. It is a very informative and well written book. Mr. Holm takes a very non partial stand point throughout the entire book, only delivering the facts, not coloring them. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to know about the real life of Hitler, not what mainstream society thinks.

Very educational.
This book gives glimps in the mind of this leader. misguided as one may think he was, we have worst leaders in our current time. Just read this book and you will see the same in some of our present fearless leader giving rise to the former followers.

Amazing!
Duke Holm does a exemplary job of telling the life and times of Adolf Hitler. This book contains deep, detailed description of all events in his life from the day he was born until the day he committed suicide. This book is not intended for those who want a brief synopsis of Hitler, as many parts of the book are very detailed. For those, however, who are eager to expand their knowledge of early 20th century Germany, they need look no further than this book.

This is an amazing creation.
The author has created a highly readable account of the man who is quite probably the most evil man of the century - and perhaps the millenium. Deeply revealing and meticulously researched, the picture painted here for us of Hitler is earth shaking in its breadth. Anyone who hopes to truly understand the man and the tragedy of Nazi Germany should get this book, and listen to it well.

Amazing!
Being born after the war in Germany I still was woefully ignorant of German WW2 history. Vol 1 & 2 gave me incredible insights to that period. I recommend these two vol. to any student of history

This is one of the best for me.
One of the best biographies I've ever read. Tries to look at one of the most reviled men in history in an objective manner, without downplaying the crimes he perpetrated. Looks at Hitler as a man, however flawed (though that's an understatement) without making him into some cartoon supervillain.

Enjoyable to listen to.
what made the book particularly enjoyable for me was that, though I had heard about World War 2, I didn't know who was in it or what the result was, so i could read the story of this wonderful man right up to the last page without my excitement being spoiled by knowing which side would win or how the story would end.

Learned a lot from listening to this audible.
Perhaps the most interesting thing this book can do is make Hitler a real person and explain how and why he became, well, "Hitler." Evil? Certainly. Manipulative? Without question. Hateful? His documented words and actions convey it beyond a doubt. But his story is a human story. He was a man with parents, relatives, friends and experiences. His ideology and political ambition grew step-by-step and in a historical context that uniquely allowed for it. That may be instructive for all of us. Such monsters can grow whenever there is a similar convergence of personal ambition and opportunity.

Enjoy and come to your own conclusions!
If you are a person of sufficient intellect to question the standard explanation given to the mindless masses as to the motivations, principals and validity of Adolf Hitler, then this is the book for you. It is a book of unparalleled detail, giving the reader all the information needed to come to their own informed decision on the catalysis for the most extraordinary event in human history, WWII. It refreshingly omits the standard political slant of the evils of the Nazi regime, in favor of the democratic philosophy of allowing the facts to speak for themselves. Enjoy and come to your own conclusions!

Amazing audio book.
At last, the most factual, unbiased, historical work ever written about one of history's most misunderstood men. Few people know about Hitler's bravery and love for his country. Although his rise to power was by questionable means, he turned a bankrupt, desolate nation into one of the greatest countries in the world. If Hitler didn't get greedy and start World War II, he would have gone down in history as one of the greatest leaders ever. From Hitler's birth to the final bunker,
