About this listen
I’d never played a game before,
I’d never seen the point.
On the first day, I leveled up.
It was an intense feeling of euphoric pleasure.
By the end of the week,
I’d forgotten about my other life.
My name is Alexa Drey.
This game has become my world.
I fight for Barakdor.
Virtual reality meets epic fantasy - immerse yourself in this vivid world!
Hot on the heels of the best-selling book The Legacy Builder comes another book set in the virtual fantasy land of Barakdor. Alexa Drey: The Veils of Lamerell tells the tale of Alexa Drey's unusual start to the game, and follows her as she meets wizards, dwarves, a beggle, and even a strange looking creature called a mantilee.
If you’re new to Barakdor, you can dive straight in and pick this one up. If you love it, move right on to The Legacy Builder. Barakdor one and two can be listened to in any order.

Different pace to a solid LitRPG series
Very different type of book compared to the first one. It took me a bit of time to care about a whole new set of characters after spending the whole first book following Lincoln.
Whereas Lincoln was more knowledgeable on the game mechanics and was focused more of village building this book was more of an adventure book but with a clueless noob who needed to learn all the basic before progressing.
I enjoyed the female MC Alexa and point of view and her determination. It was nice that it delved more into magic and world exploring. This book has open up the larger game world.
Another solid narration performance by Stephanie Dillard.
Solid addition to the series. I will probably carry on with the series as would like to see how both Alexa and Lincoln progress and hopefully eventually meet.
