About this listen
'It's an incredible read for anyone facing adversity in their life; how to cope with it, how to stay positive in really difficult situations. - Sally Nugent
'A throat-catching love letter to his wife and children . . . this lovely man has reframed a universally sad story into a life-enhancing one. The overall message is one of hope. ' - The Times
'It's just stunning; funny and beautifully written' - as heard on The Chris Evans Breakfast Show
Sir Chris Hoy knows better than most how life can change in the blink of an eye.
In elite sport, the margin between victory and defeat is miniscule, and the pressure is immense. Chris has built a glittering sporting career on understanding these moments: how to feel for them, how to cope with them, how to make them count.
Last year, he faced another life-changing moment. He found out that the ache in his shoulder was in fact a tumour, and that he had Stage 4 cancer.
He will be living with this disease for the rest of his life.
In this memoir, Chris shares the next phase of his extraordinary life with exceptional bravery. He looks over the challenges he has faced thus far, and the ways he has taken them on. With his wife Sarra and their young children by his side, he shares how he has used these experiences to find ways to focus on the moments that matter, showing us how to do the same.©2024 Sir Chris Hoy (P)2024 Hodder & Stoughton Limited

Beautifully Written
I was brokenhearted listening to the journey Chris and his family have gone through/yet to go through. However I’m totally in awe of his acceptance and inspired approach to continuing to live his very full life whilst keeping his family and friends close. Sara does sound AMAZING - what a woman and I wish her all the best with her health too.
The book is very open and honest and will not only inspire those with Stage4 cancer but anyone who is generally struggling with life - you have clearly shown Why you are a multiple Olympic Gold Champion and I hope the meds really do continue to chase the cancer away for years to come.
You truly are an inspiration Sir Chris Hoy - sending love x

Absolutely wonderful book, the way Sir Chris Hoy has approached his cancer diagnosis and treatment is brutally honest but absolutely inspirational. A must read for all people who either themselves or their family or friends receive similar diagnoses.

Chris Hoy, the man, the myth, the legend!
I always liked Chris Hoy and was shocked to hear of his cancer diagnosis. I wanted to listen to this book as soon as I heard it was available on his interview on the Chris Evans radio show. The book sums up Chris Hoy as the beautiful person that he is. Kind, caring, compassionate and amazingly focussed on his approach to all things in life from riding a bike to Olympic standard to looking out for his wife & kids. The book is a real tribute to his philosophy in life and will help many others get the best out of thier life, whatever the issues. I recently lost my dog Jackson of 13 years Chris’s book has helped me deal with this loss. Thank you Chris. A book everyone should listen to.

Puts things into perspective…had me in tears multiple times, totally inspiring. Here is a man who has truly lived and continues to do so. Wish him and his family many more years together.
