About this listen

You fell in love with the victors of The Hunger Games.

Now prepare to meet the villains of The Blood Veil.

After the publication of a salacious tell-all book, the remote city of Ilvernath is thrust into the spotlight. Tourists, protesters and reporters alike flock to its spell shops and historic ruins to witness an ancient curse unfold: every generation, seven families name a champion among them to compete in a tournament to the death. The winner awards their family exclusive control over the city's high magick supply, the most powerful resource in the world.

In the past, the villainous Lowes have won nearly every tournament, and their champion is prepared to continue his family's reign. But this year, thanks to the influence of their newfound notoriety, each of the champions has a means to win. Or better yet - a chance to rewrite their story.

But this is a story that must be penned in blood.

All of Us Villains

This was my first full audiobook and I really enjoyed it.

I liked the story - a darker Hunger Games.
The World building was excellent, I had no issue imagining the scenes and the characters.

I thought the two voice actors were excellent.

I'm looking forward to listening to All of Our Demise.

An easy read and nothing more

Had to read this book for an assignment, and though it was an easy read, it lacked a bit in convincing its reader properly.

It felt like a weird mixture of Harry Potter, Hunger Games and Twilight, with the focus on the latter.

Better than a sleeping pill

The story and premis are ok but i just could not get over the narration, within the first chapter I was starting to nod off. I understand that the story is set in a dark and gloomy town but come on the voice acting from both was so dull I stopped listening wate of a credit

Not bad but ends mid tale

I love book series , but I do like ones that reach conclusions. This book is not a bad story at all but I felt sure that my audible app had failed at the end - sadly no.

I sat with my discomfort at the end - the most uncomfortable of a seemingly increasing trend of forced serialisation of what feels like what should be one book. But really it’s spoiled my enjoyment of this considerably.

WARNING There are two missing chapters!!!

I'm about 3/4 through when I realised something was wrong. Have emailed audible but not entirely sure I will get a response. I thoroughly checked the chapter list against a PDF of the book and there are two chapters completely missing!! Also one other chapter repeats itself.

Will amend this review if amazon get back to me because I was really enjoying it until now.
