Summary

Diana Gabaldon's immensely popular Outlander saga soars to new heights with this seventh novel, which takes listeners on a breathtaking journey to 1777 America.

Jamie Fraser knows from his time-traveling wife Claire that, no matter how unlikely it seems, America will win the Revolutionary War. But that truth offers little solace, since Jamie realizes he might find himself pointing a weapon directly at his own son - a young officer in the British army.

And Jamie isn't the only one with a tormented soul - for Claire may know who wins the conflict, but she certainly doesn't know whether or not her beloved Jamie survives.

Epic in scope and featuring a colorful cast that includes many legendary figures - including hero-turned-traitor Benedict Arnold and bawdy statesman Benjamin Franklin - An Echo in the Bone is a thrill from start to finish.

Great Scot! Don't miss the complete Outlander series:
Outlander
Dragonfly in Amber
Voyager
Drums of Autumn
The Fiery Cross
A Breath of Snow and Ashes
An Echo in the Bone
Please note: Even though Recorded Books has produced unabridged editions of both The Fiery Cross and A Breath of Snow and Ashes, they do not have what's called "digital rights" for those recordings. That means they can sell them in CD format, but they cannot yet distribute them via digital services such as Audible and iTunes.

The last time we checked with Diana's agent, his belief was that it could take until sometime next year to resolve the situation. It's wrapped up in contracts and such that have to be untangled. Unfortunately, that's out of our hands. But we keep pushing. Stay tuned!

Love the way davina porter brings the book alive. And Diana gabaldon writing is so much more than a story . Just love it all. Can't wait for the next book..

I want to finish this series

I like these books, this couple has been through a lot and, while you do have to be able to suspend your disbelief a bit at the sheer amount of things that happen to these people, this was a nice listen. I love this narrator, I think she's perfect for these books. I did find at times that the eroticism was interruptive and unnecessary though, I don't feel like it was necessary as often as it happened. I've read these books from the start and they are a commitment I want to read the next one, I want to have finished this series so I have seen the progression of the relationship. I just think there were times where the author just put sex in there because there was a space. Regardless I like the story and they're good to sit and listen to during the lockdown while colouring or cleaning!

It is not finished ...

Would you listen to An Echo in the Bone again? Why?

Yes

Who was your favorite character and why?

Jamie, so romantic

Which character – as performed by Davina Porter – was your favourite?

Young Ian

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

If time permitted

Any additional comments?

The story is not finished. What about little Jemmie stuck in the dark place driving the train, what about Roger going off through the stones? When is the next book out for the Jamie and Claire fans of their family and their doings? Am going to listen to Lord John's books, but will miss their family dramas.
