Summary

In Series 1 and 2 of Andy Hamilton Sort of Remembers, the much-loved Andy presents a collection of potentially misremembered anecdotes.

He’s been working in comedy for over 40 years and there’s a lot of reminiscing he can do…using comic observation and personal anecdotes he will explore each theme, examining how much (or how little) things have changed in the 60ish years he's been on this planet.

In Series 1, Andy looks at Childhood, Politics, The Human Body and Animals. He remembers his favourite childhood sounds (ice cream van anyone?), the politician he calls ‘the upstairs bathroom’, how his own brain and body occasionally conspire against him and gives listeners top tips on dealing with an angry bear and a grumpy alligator.

In Series 2, Andy sort of remembers tales about Sport, Class, Religion and Stupidity. He tries to convince listeners why everyone should be a sport fan, lets people know why heavyweight champion of the world he spilt wine on, shares fond memories of playing Satan on Old Harry’s Game and how being a middle-class child of working-class parents added some bumps to his university and working life.

Great interesting stand up about different subjects in many half-hour programs

This is a great stand up with each individual radio show being about a different subject off kilter and witty really a great lesson for most people younger people will find it interesting on some of the older looks on things with the older listeners getting a different point of you

intelligent comedy

Andy's recollections are hilarious and strike chords with people of a certain age as well as some laughs for younger bods.

Pure gold.

Andy Hamilton is one of the few people who makes me laugh aloud, even when I’ve listened to the same programmes several times. These unreliable memoirs will certainly be revisited regularly in the future - like “Old Harry’s Game”, his sitcom set in Hell, which never fails to cheer me up!

Witty and classic - Satire at its best.

Andy reminisces in his own brilliant way about his career, childhood, politics and life in general and made me laugh so hard so many times I nearly peed myself! (Getting on a bit myself!) He has a great way of making a wide selection of people with very different views laugh (and look ridiculously stupid) but still laugh at them selves! My Dad for one! He loves listening to Andy but politically he is unfortunately in love with the oh so charming beer swigging Nige and is an avid Daily Mail reader(but “only really at the weekend for the television pullout and the word wheel puzzle!”) Andy you are a brilliant star/devil/writer/panelist/actor/bloke who appeals to all and we love you! xx

Brilliant

Very funny material excellently performed, I know Andy Hamilton is considered more a comedy writer more than a stand up comedian but really wish there was more.
