About this listen
A fake relationship with a stranger. An office romance with doughnuts and white knights. An addictive arrangement - friends with benefits - fast turns to love.
Jonah Gray is rich, successful, and the most eligible bachelor in the city, according to his mother, at least. But the truth is, despite her efforts to pair him off, he’s fine on his own. All he needs is a date to the Christmas ball.
Sacha Ivanov is a lone wolf, content with the cycle of long days, late nights, and anonymous hook-ups, but when a chance encounter in a broken-down lift brings a gorgeous copper-haired CEO into his life, everything begins to change.
As Christmas fast approaches, a favor for a stranger blooms into something more. He doesn’t do second dates or relationships. But for kind-hearted Jonah, his angel in the city, he might just change his mind.
Angels in the City is a Christmas-themed MM friends-to-lovers, forced-proximity office romance. Expect fraught days, steamy nights, and true love built around festive snacks and Christmas trees.

Angels in the City
Good listen with good narration. It wasn't as Christmas as I thought but still a decent story. I enjoyed the characters and them together. A little something was missing as I did keep losing my focus on the book - I’m pretty sure that was just me, though. No regrets choosing or the time listening. I'll check out more from both author and narrator in the future.

I couldn't put it down.
Angels in the City is another book by Garrett Leigh that I'm not sure how to describe other than "wonderful." It's not what I would call a traditional sort of Christmas story but it does take place near the holidays. It's a book that I would certainly listen to any time of the year.
Jonah meets sexy Russian Sacha when they get stuck in an elevator together. The conversation between them leads to Sacha going to a ball with Jonah as his fake boyfriend. This begins a relationship that neither of them expected or wanted to last beyond a one-night stand.
There is so much feeling and depth to this story. I hate it when I don't know how to put into words what it is that I liked about a book. For Angels in the City it's everything. There isn't one thing about this story that I didn't love. I didn't even mind that there was no epilogue for Jonah and Sacha; the ending left me feeling good and the last chapter or so made me tear up because it had so much feeling in it.
Dan Calley did another excellent job with his performance of this story. I enjoy listening to the audiobooks that he does.

Listening is the perfect holiday gift to yourself
What starts out as a hastily concocted fake boyfriend scheme between Jonah Gray and Sacha Ivanov, becomes this complex building “relationship” between two men who have locked their hearts away. They are seemingly opposites but there’s inherently trust between them because there’s something the other has that just speaks to them, completes them.
Neither Jonah nor Sacha are long-term relationship types, but Sacha, in particular, is bewitched by Jonah, and absolutely confused as to the reason why. These two have crazy chemistry, smoking hot sex scenes and definite communication issues, but above all, a deep connection that starts from the minute they meet, even though neither recognizes it for what it is until much later.
I loved everything about this book: the characters, the storyline, and the emotions packed into it all. The author does a terrific job of conveying it all without being heavy-handed. Then add the narrator, Dan Calley, to the mix and you’ve got one excellent audiobook. Mr. Calley always does a great job narrating and his Russian accent is superb. I highly recommend this story; it’s the perfect holiday gift to yourself.

Sasha and Jonah Gray
I enjoyed this story. It was super sweet and steamy. Jonah was a great, sunshine of a character. Sasha was great with Jonah but sometimes was a bit off putting to me. Overall, a great fake relationship, to friends with benefits to lovers story.
Dan Calley accents were really good and distinctive. Looking forward to hearing more stories narrated by him,

Glorious
I adore Garrett Leigh's Christmas stories. They're as sweet as her stories ever get but still with that edge that let's you know you're reading at Garrett Leigh book. This is no exception.
Two men, who don't do relationships, get stuck in a lift. One follows the other out and never stops. What starts as fake boyfriends and a quickie becomes so much more but not without denial and fighting it on both sides.
The narrator does an excellent job. I'm so happy to have this book available to listen to whenever I like.
Highly recommended.

Wonderful, sweet story
I really enjoyed this story, from the first meeting in the elevator, through the ups and downs, to the dramatic climax and fun ending. I loved the growth both MCs, but especially Sacha, experienced on their way to love. I found Sacha's character very frustrating sometimes, especially the way he treated Jonah and his moodiness. Jonah really was an angel to him, loving and caring despite everything. I felt I didn't know Sacha as well as I would have liked. Both characters' backgrounds could have been fleshed out a bit more in my opinion. Still, the story was sound and very enjoyable. I would have loved an epilogue further in the future for Jonah and Sacha.
The narration was superb, especially the Russian accents. This was my first listen by this narrator, but I will definitely be looking for more audiobooks from him.

A really interesting story
Story: Sacha and Jonah sure make an interesting couple. The story is dynamic and intense, with lots of chemistry and real life issues thrown at them. I liked how they felt the pull to each other and how the great writing pulls the reader in. There is not a one dull moment in the book and it is a really enjoyable experience.
Narration: The performance was good and I liked how the narrator consistently used the accents, which is not always easy. One "but" for me was that the narration felt really rushed at times and I had trouble following the dialogue because of that. Overall though, a good job well done!

Great Story & Narration🎧 Compelling & Heartfelt!
This is a great romance story of two workaholics who work in the same building on the same floor but have never met until they get stuck in the elevator together. The two start chatting it up and hit it off despite how different they are in their personality and upbringing. Jonah Gray is the CEO of his company, but his mother still tries to boss him around and is constantly trying to fix him up on dates. Jonah is fine with being single and just wants to work and focus on making his company a success. Sacha Ivanov is a grump who prefers to keep to himself and does not want any sort of relationships. He does not know why, but he volunteers to be Jonah’s date and pretend boyfriend to his family’s Christmas Ball. The chemistry between these two is through the roof, I thought it was cute how Ivanov kept referring to Jonah as Jonah Gray. Garrett Leigh is a gifted author with a wonderful writing style, she creates characters and storylines that are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with. Her character development is fantastic, as is the way she brought these two characters together and the way their relationship grew and developed, I was rooting for them both even as Sacha tried to fight it and not give in. I enjoyed this beautifully plotted story, it had the perfect balance of drama, heartfelt and emotional moments and steamy romance. Garrett Leigh, thank you for another great story.
🎧📚🎧 And for the wonderful narration, Dan Calley is the perfect narrator to bring these characters and their story to life. He does an exceptional job covering the roles of all the different characters, giving each their own distinct voice, making it easy to follow along and tell who is who. He has a complete understanding of the characters he portrays, accents and all, and sounds believable in every role he plays. He sets the perfect tone for the story, captures all the characters’ emotions and projects them into his performance. Dan Calley is a versatile voice artist and an entertaining storyteller. Thank you for another fabulous listen.

A refreshing story
I'm a huge MM romance fan, however being Russian myself, mostly I stay away from books with Russian characters in it, for specific reason that most of the authors use to many clichés and stereotypes. It was soo refreshing to see not only a probably one of my favourite portraying of Russia MC in MM book, but just an amazing story. Especially after books and books of ok and nothing to report about.
I'm very particular about narrators too, cause 3/4 of the time I choose books by narrators over the authors. Loved the audio too. Pretty sure like the Misfits it will be one of the books to Re-Listen in future.

Memorable
Great story. Jonah meets Sacha in less than fortunate circumstances, and ends up taking him to a high society ball as a fake date. Angst arises, as the pair shift from a mind blowing one night stand into.....
