Summary

A jokester crashes the System, angers the gods, and becomes more powerful with every climactic battle.

Jay Luckrun has many interests: street dancing, anime, action movies, comedy, and dashing across rooftops to the point where his bullies nicknamed him Rooftop Weirdo. After struggling to confront his untouchable high school crush at her seventeenth birthday party, Jay adds another interest to his list—Dungeon Crawling in the face of the apocalypse.

Jay meets a divine creature who chooses him to become a Champion. Someone with a leveling System, stats, skills, access to other dimensions containing dungeons filled with supernatural loot, and magical powers that’ll alter reality as they know it.

Becoming a Champion comes with some issues. Global assassins want Jay and other Champions dead. Monsters are hungering to break out of their dungeons and raze Jay’s world. And Jay’s just one young guy trying to have fun with a Class that gets weirder as he evolves and masters his new gravity powers.

just what I needed

the story line is great, it reads a bit like a movie so for those who couldn't follow I can only suggest using a little more of your imagination, when one story follows many characters you can't expect to know the ins and out of the Cameos

Fantastic Job

Honestly one of the best books I have read in a while. No matter what anyone tells you this is worth the read, both for the performance, story and geek filled humour I can’t get enough of. Amazing job and can’t wait to read the next one.

overall this is a good story

This is a good story so far but the mc reminds me of a teenage me just amplified, and it's super cringe. It leans a little too much on the anime tropes for its comedy.

Was really interesting

Took me a while to get into it but was worth the push through. Wasn’t to keen on the whole Cleo side of it but looks forward to seeing how franks and a few other champions progress.

Great premise but needs work

The story and the premise are great. The writing is good. What let's it down is the way the relationships are written. The way the MC and the romantic interests interact is messy and childish. It all seems so fetishism they way some things are described.

However, the magic system, and the way the characters use and gain the powers are really smart and interesting. It's a new take on a system apocalypse and I like that.

I'm hoping the second book can fix the writing around the romance and smooth out the slight chaotic way things are done. All in all, definitely a book to give a go.

It is not bad I like the action of the story but some time gets a bit confusing. I see similaritys with Primal Hunter and He Who Fights With Monsters. All in All I like it and looking forward to read the other books

The story is a confusing mess

The story is jumping all over the place constantly.
Even those the main carrakter is supposed to be a freak, it makes him so random I have a hard time following the current story content.
and the start is freakisly confusing
