Summary

Work, and life in general, demands more from people these days. In fact it generally demands more, better and quicker and it can be difficult to maintain good mental health under that sort of pressure. A certain level of stress is healthy: it can help us rise to a challenge and improve our performance. Or it can take a negative toll, leading to a drop in performance, poor motivation and absence amongst other things. As a manager, you can play a key role in stopping the downward slide, and it's easier than you might think. This is a critical aspect of assertive communication to reduce stressful situations. Very poor

The quality of the narration was appalling
At times it sounded as if it was a computer reading text.

The content was very limited and offered no examples of good assertive behaviour

Having lists of passive or aggressive behaviour alternately read out by a narrator with a flat nasal drone doesn't conjure up a confident assertive personality

Concise but lacked focus on how to improve

It was short and concise and described examples of the non-assertive as well as examples of assertive styles however I felt it didn't offer much insight into how to increase your assertiveness skills.

Short and to the point a bit like assertiveness!

Very interesting. The common scenarios explained by Dana hit close to home for me. The book is short and to the point - just as assertiveness should be! Worth the price.
