Summary
Wes
When I was a kid, my dad was the gardener for the richest man in town. His daughter, Lily Barnes, told me she could never like a guy like me. Then she kissed me and told me it would never happen again. When it happened again, she told me she could never love me because she was going to leave this place, and I would never leave my dad.
We were never quite friends, not exactly enemies, and we could never quite stop secretly kissing each other.
She never said goodbye before running off to try to make it as an actress. That was her dream, and I wanted her to chase it. Okay, maybe I hated her for it, just a little.
Now she’s back, with no money and even more sass.
A lot has changed around here...except for my hidden feelings about Lily Barnes.
Lily
So, it turns out I’m a terrible actress and now I’m back!
When my father offers me a job at his company, I actually think he’s finally decided I’m worthy of one day taking over the family business. Imagine my surprise when I find out that the gardener’s son is the one who’s being groomed to take over, and I’ve been assigned to work for him.
Wes Carver has always been rich in confidence and abs, but now he’s rich in everything, including disdain for yours truly.
If he thinks I’m not built to work, he’s wrong.
If he thinks he can boss me around just because he’s my boss, he’s delusional.
If he thinks I’m still the girl who could never love him...I may be a better actress than anyone thought.

Wish I could give this book more than 5 stars
What a beautiful story. I love how it all came around in a circle and made sense. My heart hurt because of the relationship Lily had with her dad. I would totally marry Wes. I liked that there wasn’t a lot of angst. All the characters are wonderful. The narration was great! I loved everything about this book. I definitely recommend listening to this book.

🎧 Review for Audiobook Obsession 🎧
This Friends to Lovers storyline has a two fold agenda. First get the guy, turn a childhood crush into a meaningful relationship, but also gain the love and respect of her father something Lily has never understood and has tried to achieve all her life.
Bonus the narrators Teddy Hamilton (one of my favorites) & Mackenzie Cartwright need I say more?

Great book
I really enjoyed listening to this and how Lily and Wes eventually gave in to their feelings for each other. It was sad that Lily’s dad was so distant with her but I was happy when he opened up about his feelings and things worked out in the end.

First loves and second chances
I cannot get enough of Kayley Loring! Every book I listen to of hers finds a place in my heart. Back for Me is a story of first loves, coming home, and second chances. Lily leaves to go chase her dream of becoming an actress. When things don't go quite as she planned, she comes home to take a job in her family business. Little does she know that her father has her working under her first love. Wes, the gardener's son is now her boss and the chemistry is still there. But can these two work together? I love this low angst, yet compelling story. It is lets us live real life relationships and see who they work through them. Second chances don't always come along, so this first love and family time is crucial. I love how Loring brings it all together. Her writing is always easy to listen to, has such a good story and leaves me with a smile. She creates incredible characters I can easily picture and really love her style.
Loring also chooses amazing narrators for her stories. Teddy Hamilton and Mackenzie Cartwright are the consummate team for this narration. Each brings a manner that gives the feeling that you know the character, they are a friend of yours. Hamilton's conversational style always makes me so happy and comfortable and I know he really brings the disposition of the characters out. Cartwright finds the core of the heroine and brings her out in a way I can connect with. They are an amazing team.

A Sweet Second Chance Romance
I loved Back For More. It had a great storyline and a cute couple who were made for each other. I loved Wes and I liked Lily too but not quite as much because she ran away all those years ago and never looked back. I have loved every Kayley Loring book I have listened to. She writes such sweet yet sexy stories.
I also love Teddy Hamilton and Mackenzie Cartwright. Both of them are great performers who really know how to bring a story to life.

Amazing narration and sweet, low angst story
I loved this book because it was more than a romance. Oh, it was that- Wes and Lily have a second chance to be together and they were adorable together- witty, humorous banter, love, loyalty, unwavering support (with a great side of steam). Their relationship, after the initial issues with forgiveness, was low angst; get ready to smile.
But beyond that, were the family dynamics- both had issues with parents and it was wonderful to see them as a team navigating through those familial issues, supporting each other with love and loyalty. This was a feel good story, with a great supporting cast.
As for the narration, I would likely listen to anything Teddy Hamilton reads because he has such an amazing range (men, women, children), great ability to infuse emotion into his reading and really, I loved his spoken French (ha, only a few phrases but it's enough, sigh). Mackenzie Cartwright had a perfect voice for Lily and again, had great range, pacing and emotion. All in all, an excellent listen.
