Summary
A night with a handsome stranger should have been the best one of my life.
But it turns out, he wanted so much more from me.
Stepbrother's nightmare. That’s Jaxen Ambrose.
He’s beautifully vicious, lethal, the villain, and I’m nothing but the plaything that gives him his high.
He says I must pay for my sins. I do that or he’ll end me. He’s got it in his sick mind I’ve done something to him. That I’ve taken something from him, but I’m no thief.
The only thief is him. My enemy, my obsession. He involved me in his wicked game without me even knowing. Before he was cruel, he was kind, a stranger who’d been gentle and sweet. I even believed him capable of love.
Only that love turned out to be what I should fear most, his wickedest play of all. It’s true that his cruelty could break me.
But his love could destroy me.
Warning: Beautiful Brute is an NA stepbrother romance that contains graphic content and situations some may find triggering. It's recommended for listeners 17+ and is a stand-alone audiobook with no cliff-hanger. It's audiobook three in a series of stand-alones titled Court University, which is a spin-off series about characters featured in Eden O'Neill's Court High books. Listening to the Court High audiobooks first is not necessary for the enjoyment of Court University. The characters' origin stories merely begin in Court High and can be referred to at any time if the listener so chooses. Enjoy!

Cleo & Jax
Jax had a lot of work to do to make me like him because in the first half of this he was far from my favourite but he changed in the second half. When the secrets and the misconceptions were all out in the open he opened himself up to Cleo. I'm really glad I didn't put this down because it was throughly enjoyable.

AMAZING!
Jax gave me life!
I can't even explain how much his tortured soul spoke to me, him and Cleo together though, absolute perfection.
I hated the way the story started but I had faith in Eden... no way she would ruin things like that without an amazing follow up and amazing it was.
I loved the way Jaxen and Cleo were together, Cleo was so wholesome and wonderful, and I was instantly in love with her. I loved her fiercely and wholly and then Jaxen my goodness I can't even explain what that man did to me. These two had this bond that was just spectacular to experience. I hated the turmoil they faced but loved seeing them face it together and seeing them grow so much from it all. The ending though, I was floored. The way things played out, I did not see that coming and loved Jaxen all the more for it. Both of them dove headfirst into the line of fire for each other with no hesitation and that was end game for me. That was the kind of love I wanted, everybody deserves that kind of love, especially these two.
This series has been amazing, and I can't wait to see what else Eden has in store for us with this crew.
I can't end this without giving a HUGE shoutout to the narrators. Addison Barnes and Christian Leatherman were awesome! This is my first time listening to either of them and they did not disappoint! They were the icing on top of the cake.

I screamed a lot listening to this amazing book!
Beautiful Brute is the book I have been waiting to read the most out of these spin off's after learning about Jaxon Ambrose and his love interest Clio in the next generation spin off series. There is an element of forbidden romance and heavy taboo considering that Clio is also his step-sister. It's also enemies-to-lovers which is one of my favourite tropes to read so this was right up my street.
Jaxon Ambrose infuriates me almost immediately and iI found myself screaming and cursing him for his action towards Clio after taking her virginity. He was cruel and vile and just had me raging before he does a 180 and completely flips the other way she he begins to develop feelings for her.
Clio on the other hand is very naive and innocent and well in touch with her inner child what with her pyjamas and how she has decorated her room but it was a unique quirk that endeared me to her. She's very different to the normal strong, sassy FMC's i usually read but I enjoyed her just as much. I did get frustrated with her slightly at times what with how Jax treated her and found myself screaming at her too in a completely different way.
Overall, an amazing book and I thought the audio narrators complimented the characters and the author's story very well. I think they were very well chosen for their skill and how well the voices matched what I imagine the characters to sound like. Well worth a listen!

Incredible
I started this book hoping it was going to be good, hoping it would stir up all my emotions and hope that it would be enjoyable. Well Eden has certainly brought her best work with this one. The characters are incredibly well written, the storyline flowed well, the narrator added an impressive amount of personalisation to the novel and it all just added up to a wonderful novel that had the darkness and emotion and everything that I was hoping for in it.
