Such a beautifully written story and so wonderfully read by The author herself, Dawn French. She put such feeling into every word. I felt as if I knew all the characters as if I were living their lives myself. Feeling very emotional as I write this as I have just finished listening. At last, a real, proper ending to a book. A lovely story full of warmth and humour. It made me reflect on my role as a daughter and a mother. Easy listening and sad when it ended as I have enjoyed the characters. Lovely to hear it read by Dawn.

This was a really good book. I chose the audible version especially to hear Dawn French bring it to life. I found it a little tough at first as some of the themes chimed with my own personal life, so may have had dust in my eye a couple of times, but couldn't stop listening and actually found the story helped me heal a little. The characters were really interesting and the story kept me warm on my daily winter walks.
I heard Dawn say in an interview that she put a lot of herself into this book and you feel that, the emotions and mother daughter relationships are really powerful.

Beautiful. I cried so much during the last chapters at the depth of love. I wont spoil any of the story but know it is a good one and read with such heart. highly recommend this wonderful book.

Thoroughly enjoyed this very touching story of love and loss. Very real and believable characters and I readily empathised with both sides. The tears streamed down my face as I listened on my afternoon walk.

Loved this book. Took a little to get into, but once the narrative took over you couldn't stop listening.

There was real imagination in the base story. Obviously there was literary license taken with the policing and medical facts ( plus a few others that would have got in the way) the story was heartwarming and satisfying.

Well done Dawn, fabulous book.
