Summary
In a future world ruled by warring mega-corporations, cyborg Nephilim believed she was fighting a righteous cause. As a powerful cybernetically enhanced elite soldier, her job is to do all the dirty work for the mega-corporation she belongs to. She and her elite cyborg squad are deployed on the most dangerous missions–to protect Olympias from threats outside and inside, at any cost.
One day, a malfunction in her implants separates her from the all-controlling grid. For the first time in her life, Nephilim is free. She learns that everything she has believed in all her life is a lie, and decides to defend her newfound freedom. But Metatron, the leader of her unit, has very special plans for her future and won’t let her get away. Soon, Nephilim finds herself hunted by the killer squads she once belonged to. She’s the best of them, but will her skills be enough to survive?

Story that will take you hostage!
As in headline, and that story will release you only on the end of it with promise of return.
The world described looks like possible branch of our history. Author captured human nature (the good and the bad) and used it to describe dystopian city that glows on the outside but it is rotten in the inside.
Characters that we will meet are well described, you will either love them or hate them (which is good!). At the beginning of story i was little confused, but every piece of puzzle given by author fitted later to whole picture.
There is a lot of action, a lot ot thoughts. I couldn't stop myself from listening this book and to be honest, i've finished it within few days. I love it. For sure i'll listen to other books from author.
Also, big kudos to David Reimer! His voice and narrative is wonderful. I like how he played each character.
Overall, this is very, very good Cyberpunk/Sci-Fi book. And i'm quite sure, that anyone who like this genre will listen to it with great pleasure.

Excellent. 4king Excellent.
This. This is a great story this!
This is one of the very best stories of the Cyberpunk genre, a story about a sexy cyborg who finds herself in danger from the system she's been groomed to serve since childhood, when she starts to question whether she's the cold blooded killing machine she was always led to believe she was.
Drama, suspense, tension, surprises and ACTION, it has it all, and it's written in such a unique way by Anna - an author who not only draws you into this world with such skill, but has a good understanding of human (and cyborg) nature which makes the relationships between the characters so compelling,
No less than 10 minutes after finishing this book, I moved onto the second which so far is proving to be just as great!

Well Narrated Cyberpunk Excellence
Although familiar with the series which is excellently written awaiting the narration was quite a wait. When i seen the narration team I was pleased as we got dual sex narrators but being unfamiliar with them was also a chance.
After that initial settling in period the voices worked well although a few sounded different to what I expected, this was more than made up by those who were spot in and I imagine there was quite a few tips given by Mocikat.
Pay particular attention to our main characters as I think they more than make up for any slight issues. As a fan the series develops well so hopefully this now means the audios speed up as well.
I requested this audio and have decided to leave my thoughts for everyone.

A superb audiobook format of a fantastic book.
This new audio edition of Behind Blue Eyes brings a whole new depth to the already fantastic cyberpunk book. As part of the new age of cyberpunk, BBE is a fast, thrilling, and action-packed tale with underlying themes and thought-provoking ideas that keep you hooked and interested.
Through the use of duel narration in this revamped edition, Jessica Weyman’s narration for the lead character ‘Nephilim’ stands out with her own unique voice, while David Reimer provides clear overall narration and great additional male characters. Additionally, the musical score for the book creates a more immersive listen, which pulls you in to the story with its cinematic soundscape.
Overall, this is a great story in a superb audiobook format.

Everything you want from cyberpunk
This is very much a book of two halves. First half is the awakening of Nephilim to the culture of Olympias and her place within it. The pace of this is good and the exposition of the world and characters around Nephilim. I would have been quite happy for this to be longer as I really enjoyed the world that was being built (hopefully more of that in future books).
The second half is a more traditional spy / rebellion / action / romance storyline. There are plenty of twists to keep the story moving along at a good pace. For my personal preference I could have done without the romance bit, but it wasn’t intrusive enough for me to take a star off the review.
Looking forward to book 2. This review is based on the Audible version. The narrators are great with the distinct male and female voices working very well. I especially liked how Nephilim’s speech cadence is more robotic to start with but slightly more humanistic once she has awakened.
