About this listen

Dead, snarky heroine? Check.

Dead, sarcastic BFF? Check.

Murdered ghost stuffed in a locker? Check.

Death is not what Bridget Sway expected. Not at all.

The afterlife is a mess of bureaucracy littered with nonsensical rules. It's a fashion disaster for a uniform and a job that doesn't pay. It's a heinous communal living situation with housemates who have no concept of privacy or personal space. And it's a handsome parole officer who is a stickler for those nonsensical rules that no one has bothered to explain.

As if all of that wasn't bad enough, someone has stuffed a dead ghost in her locker...and the afterlife police are ready to pin the murder on her.

I wasn't sure what to expect with this book but I loved it and am so glad I discovered it.. Who knew ghost can be murdered? This is a very novel idea but it really works. There is a mystery but it was actually the whole idea of Bridget and the rest of the ghosts becoming acclimatized to there situation and the new rules they need to follow, or in Bridget's case break, that kept me hooked. It wasn't the normal woe is me I am dead hysterics but instead learning how to get around or walk through walks. . I loved Bridget and Sabrina as characters, they are just prefect to rebel against authorities, sassy enough to go up against a killer and likeable enough that people want to be there friends, much to there discuss. This made it fun and then you add in all the livies (the mediums) who kept summoning her, a few dead bodies and you have an entertaining story and a good start to a new series

Bridget is dead and very disappointed to find there is no heaven. Instead she has follow the rules set by her probation officer. This means living with housemates, going to acclamation meets and working. Her job as a facilitator means and is back in the real world and when a medium discovers her real name it means she can be summoned any time to help. The medium has had a client die on her and she wants help finding to solve his murder. But to top it all off Bridget keeps finding dead bodies shoved in her own locker. Sticking to the rules is hard enough if you don't know what they are but it's even harder when you are trying to find a killer before becoming the next victim. Can Bridget and Sabrina survive being a ghost and capture a killer or will the after life he the death of them.
The narrator took a while to get use too, I think because most narrators seem to be American but I was soon lost in the story that I didn't really notice.
I read the book a few years ago and though at the time this would make for a good audio book and I was right. I enjoyed the audio book just as much.

Enjoyable book, fun plot and easy to listen to. Difficult to get past the bad attempts at accents by the reader though.

This was a great book, really fun. Definitely quirky. I like that it is set in England and is really very English. I must say though I really hope the author's vision of life after death is not correct. I listened to this and straight away downloaded the next one, now on book 3..... The narrator is good, but I dropped a star for her international accents, not the best.

Enjoyable series

Bit silly and girlie, but I really got into it! It’s a lighthearted murder mystery complicated by a hilarious take on the afterlife. Well read. Worth a try, if it sounds like your type of thing... I’ll be buying number 2 next!

Surprisingly enjoyable!

I was not sure to start with , but it's an addictive listen and the more it went on the more I didn't want the story to end.
