I embarked on 'Dreaming of the Bull' after rating Manda Scott's 'A Treachery of Spies' as one of my all time favourite audiobooks. 'Boudica: Dreaming the Bull' didn't tick all the boxes for me and certainly required more concentration, nevertheless well worth the time and effort.

I read the Boudica series when they were first released, and couldn't put them down. So pleased to be able to listen to them on Audible now, very enjoyable. Manda Scott really brings this time to life. Love the writing style, and the descriptions of events and scenery etc.

I must admit I found the first book of this series quite hard going but I’m so glad I persevered, ‘Dreaming the Bull’ is superb historical fiction. I am a fan of Caratacus sometimes known as Caractacus or Caradoc and was glad to see he didn’t return to Britainia as that would have stretched the fiction too far. Can’t wait to start book three now.

This is an excellent follow-up to the first Boudica novel and now I can't wait to listen to the final part of the trilogy. You do not have to have heard the first part to understand what is going on but I think it would be helpful.

Never been so enthralled by a series before, as an avid reader of historical fiction, Manda Scott has cemented herself as one of my all-time favourite authors. The depth of her prose and characters is simply magical.

It also has a power to reconnect to our tribal roots here in Britannia & remember.

I've read this book more times than I can remember but listening to it just gives it a whole new dimenson. Everything just seems heightened in the audio version. This will forever be one of my absolute favourite series
