About this listen
Ellie's detective days may have seemed like a gutter ball, but she's about to knock down some serious pins. Whether she likes it or not.
Just when she thinks she can take a break from sleuthing, a new murder mystery rolls her way. Ellie must strike fast to bring the killer to justice.
But that's not all she's got on her plate. She's also teaching a lively group of bachelorette ladies to belly dance, dealing with her magical mane acting up, and training for the local Trot-n-Tater race. Plus, a handsome and mysterious man has magically appeared and seems to know more about her powers than she does.
Can Ellie bowl over the competition at the Trot-N-Tater and solve the case? Or will she find herself in the gutter with no way out?
Get ready for a wild ride full of belly laughs and suspense in the second book of the Magical Mane Mystery series.

Bowling Blunder
Another cracking listen in Stella Bixby's Magical Mane Mystery series. Our reluctant sleuth once again get's drawn in to a murder enquiry, with well developed characters including a pig called Penelope this is a fast action story that keeps you guessing with twists and turns. Shannon has fast become one of my favourite narrators and once again does not disappoint with her multi voiced performance. Highly recommended.
I was kindly given a copy of the book by the narrator and leave this honest review.

magic
I loved the narration of Shannon Nicole Locke, who brings the humour, mystery and characters to life in your ears.
Ellie finds herself in a new town, where she thought her investigation days were over. Ellie is still trying to settle in with her pet pig, Penelope, and her VW microbus, Mona, on her farm. Settling in and making friends. Even going bowling with new friends, Things do not work out as planned, as someone is killed at the bowling alley. With her new friends, they find the killer to clear someone’s name. Ellie also uses her magic.

No blunder here
No blunder here in fact I really enjoyed it. I listened to book one yesterday and was straight on to the next book, even though I had read the book. So glad I did because I think I enjoyed listening to it even more. The paranormal side of the story is very subtle with no casting of spells etc even though everybody calls her a witch, in fact the author went with something very unusual but somehow it works for the story and is a lot of fun. There is a long running mystery over what happened to her mother which we learn a little bit about with each book but the main mystery does get solved. There was plenty of twist in the story with two murders and it does keep you guessing, especially with all the suspects involved. Although I did enjoy the mystery I think it was the quirky characters that has me returning to the series. They are a delight and a get into all sorts of trouble, situations and unusual traditions to keep you either hooked until the end or laughing.
Ellie is trying to settle in to her new life and make friends, as well as grow her business. So when a friend invites her to go bowling she decides to go, unfortunately so does a bridal party which proves to be a big mistake. When the lights go out one of them is murdered and Ellie's new neighbour was the last person seen next to the victim before the lights went out. Afraid she is going to be blamed she asks Ellie to find the real killer. Before she can do more an ask a few questions another woman from the bridal group is killed after a fun run. The party is turning out to be anything but a celebration can Ellie find the motive before anybody else gets killed? Or her neighbour is arrested?
I like the narrator. She makes the story easy to follow by providing each character they own unique voice.

Awesome!
Everything about this book is awesome: the cute cover with the adorable Penelope, the entertaining story, and the wonderful characters. Shannon Nicole Locke, the narrator, added the next layer of awesomeness with her delightful narration.
A review copy of this book was sent to me by the narrator. All of the above opinions are my own.
