I rarely take the time to write reviews of books, despite having a rather large library now, but this one stood out for me.

Jim has had a fascinating life and has some terrific stories to tell, many will make you laugh out loud, some will bring a tear to your eye. The whole book is written with much humility and humour and narrated in only the way Jim could.

I urge you to add this book to your library, it’s a great listen and to add to that, every penny of profit is being donated to charity, more proof in case you need it of the kind of man Jim is.

MR Piddock, writes a rollicking, honest story of his life from England to Hollywood and how to survive. There is humor and honesty intertwined. It is a pleasurable read.

A rollercoaster of laughter and tears but mainly laughter. I found the audio book best as Jim put his own slant on things. Worth every penny/cent that goes to the two charities. One being my beloved Palace.

This was a thoroughly enjoyable listen - and not only that, there all sorts of things I learned that I had been completely unaware of. It was funny but also rather moving at times. I would recommend this book, especially as an Audible, read by the author himself 🥰 - who better?

This is a wonderful biography, narrated by the author. I wasn't sure that this would be my type of book as I am not usually attracted by autobiographies, but in this case a personal recommendation and the many positive reviews persuaded me to give it a try. I am so glad I did. It's laugh out loud funny in places and extremely moving in others (notably the chapters dealing with the loss of a close friend in a fire and Jim's struggles to start a family).

As you might expect from an actor, the performance is excellent. Recommended.
