About this listen
There are many ways to die at the Circus of the Dead. You’re invited to witness them all.
Mom sent me all the way across the country to the Louisiana bayou to join the circus and help my uncle for the summer. Except, there is something not quite right on this swampy cursed island, and after having my fortune told, I can’t leave. I try to escape, but Benny, an all too charming ghost gangster, tries to kill me by feeding me to a tiger.
Thankfully, I’m rescued by Samuel, the incredibly hot ringmaster who can’t be a day over 20. Can he?
In addition to avoiding the human scorpion, staying away from the big cats, and having trouble figuring out who’s dead and who’s alive, I have to find a way to escape this horror show.
Will I get out of the circus alive, or will I join their army of ghosts and become a murderer myself?

Really enjoyed this book overall
I really enjoyed this a unique take on magical circuses full of voodoo, ghosts, zombies and death. It’s got an intriguing concept full of twists and turns that keeps you guessing. You never really know who you can or can’t trust. The one thing I did have to remind myself is the MC Callie is only 16 but once I got that through my head I really enjoyed the book overall.
The Narrator did a fantastic job portraying the characters and keeping the pace and tension of the story amazingly well.

Clowns, fire and death.
Well this was certainly interesting, I wasn't sure what to expect with this series. The storyline is fantastic but a little complicated, I'm still trying to figure out exactly what is going on. There is so much mystery and twists in the plot, it's got me captivated. I'm becoming a huge Kimberly Loth fan, the more of her series's I read the more I love them all. I love the characters so much in this one, Samuel is my favourite. Which probably means something bad will happen to him, that seems to be my luck. The island is kind of scary, the way it's described it's like something out of a horror movie. This is definitely a very fun book, and the narrator does an excellent job. She nails callie's personality perfectly, she even does great imitating both benny and Samuel.

Wow
So wonderfully imaginative and the concept is superb. So few books are art in its purest forms. This is one of those rare ones that hit every single key point. The characters were creative and colourful yet relatable and the storyline was gripping from start to end. Fantastic work. Could not put it down. Listening to the next one immediately.
This narrator was perfect for the characters. She emphasises every character's personality and makes them come alive. Voice was enthusiastic, passionate and contined real feeling for the story. So few narrators are able to achieve this and are usually very monotone. Sarah Puckett was not. I could listen to her voice all day.

Creepy and entertaining
This story was super creepy. People dying all over the place, voodoo, zombies, (sexy) ghosts- it definitely had that New Orleans vibe that feels like the adventure of a lifetime yet you want to scrub yourself raw and throw away your shoes when you get home.
