About this listen

When young Matthew starts talking to himself, and introduces his invisible friend, Chocky, to the family, his parents decide it's just a phase he is going through. But when Matthew starts explaining binary maths and anti-gravity propulsion, they begin to worry. Is Chocky really just the product of an over-inactive imagination, or something more?

Based on a novel by John Wyndham, this full-cast radio drama was first broadcast on BBC Radio 4 in 1998.

Really enjoyed this listen. I listened twice all at once. A one I've always wanted to hear but never had. Well worth buying

Not my favourite Wyndham novel but very entertaining anyhow. I liked the voice of Chocky & it was the perfect length for this short-ish book. I enjoy BBC dramas.

What made the experience of listening to Classic Radio Sci-Fi the most enjoyable?

This dramatization made me feel as if i was there within the story. I was considering closing my Audible account but Chocky changed my mind. Its probably one of the best audios I've listened to so far. I enjoyed every single moment. Each chapter i wanted to hear more.

Because of Chocky
