it had everything. fantastic creatures, relationships, tense situations, baddies and heros. Great story from a new author to me, with excellent narrator. will definitely look for more books by this author

A very predictable monster romp where the narrator really saves the story in places. But a decent tale of savagery nonetheless. For a free book, it's worth a listen

Predictable but still good

Like the victims in this book, I'm a little torn (with how I feel about it). The good side is that the story is entertaining enough to keep me going until the end with enough suspense when the monster appears. The story is a little cliched with corrupt officials and your average Joe/jane being the capable heroes, something we've all seen and heard a thousand times over. The bad (and I hate to say this) is the narration. It comes across as quite robotic sometimes and makes me question whether the book was written badly in parts i.e. quite cheesy or if it's the narrator himself. One particularly cringy part is where the narrator tries to immitate an Australian accent and it's just awful. I'm not even Australian and was offended how badly it came across. IMO I'd read the book but perhaps avoid the audiobook.

This is a good story, not particularly original, but a good story, spoilt by needless dialogue and unnecessary inner monologue of every character, especially during the action sequences!

Great story and brilliant descriptions of the area and animals. My only thoughts are that although this was in Canada, the voices and mannerisms of the characters were more conducive to Texas and sometimes quite childish. However it didn’t take away the excitement of the moment

I have yet to finish the book, the Author gets lost in too many details, I don't care that the guy is still hungry after he had a x amount of Donuts or other detailed food eating descriptions , it gets very tedious and I actually have no idea anymore where I'm at with the story , this Audiobook is nearly 15 hours. I reckon if its cut down to 8-9 hours than this could actually be a good flowing story
