The third and final book in the best-selling Infernal Devices trilogy about the Shadowhunters.

“This book had me on an emotional roller coaster - one minute I'd be happy and excited, the next I'd be crying because of the sad scenes (sad, but beautiful). It didn't take me long to finish!” (The Guardian Online)

An Emotional Rollercoaster one might say.
I think this is what critics call an "emotional rollercoaster". The story is fast paced and pitted with cliffhangers. The reader is carried through the whole spectrum of emotion: joy, loss, triumph, disappointment, victory, love, hate, and pretty well all the others. This is I think, my favourite of Cassandra Clare's Shadowhunter books. It not only concludes The Infernal Devices satisfactorily, but also illuminates and explains many references in the Mortal Instruments,. filling out the backstory of characters like Brother Zachariah and Magnus Bane, and the origin of some of the tools of the Shadowhunters such as the Portal. Having read this I'm going to have to reread The Mortal. Instruments.
The performance by Daniel Sharman was excellent.

loved the whole series
This series is so brilliant and it's better, in my opinion, than the mortal instruments series (the last hours so far is also amazing). the voice actor was very good and though they have been good throughout (different ones for each) that kind of messed with the continuity, for example Will didn't have a Welsh accent in the first or second book! but still would recommend!!

Fantastic Narrator
The best narrator I’ve ever listened to, so easy to distinguish between all the characters and such a great range of accents also.

Made me cry again
I listened to this as a reread and somehow it made me cry again even more than it ever did the first time. I am older now, and the sentimentality of the characters’ affection for each other never failed to stir my own heart. Like Tessa I feel like I am revisiting an old and familiar place made up of both warm and heartbreaking memories. It is bittersweet and lovely and awfully nostalgic.
