About this listen
She's lost everything, except her life....
Lieutenant Lorraine Page once had everything - a devoted husband, two beautiful daughters and an impressive career with the Homicide Squad. It's impossible to believe that she could be thrown out of the police force and end up on Skid Row.
Without Lorraine, her colleagues struggle on, as the hunt for a nightmare serial killer spirals into an all-out search for a missing witness: a victim who escaped.
But Lorraine Page is about to be brought right back into that world again. Against her will she is drawn into the investigation and forced to face her past and her overwhelming guilt....
Based on a true story, the complete and unabridged Lorraine Page trilogy available for the first time in audio.

Great story, shocking character voices
The narrator’s voice is nice, however she puts on the most awful voices for some characters and they are so much louder it makes it very hard to listen to at times. It’s a shame as it did spoil what was a good book.

Gripping story line
Excellent plot but almost abandoned because of the narrator. Do people really speak like this? Will read the next two in the series rather than listen to them. Disappointed,

Excellent
You really can't beat Lynda La Plante for a well written, well thought through and well planned thriller. Yes it's complicated, but she does it so incredibly well.
The only reason I've marked the story down a star is because it really did take quite some time to get going, there was an awful lot of background of the main character. Perhaps it was all necessary so as to round out the character of Lorraine Paige, but it did not make for east listening.
Lynda La Plante also manages to make a really not very nice person in Lorraine likeable, I did end up rooting for her by the end of the book. She has a good story arc and I will be interested to see how she continues in the next in the series.

Great story, but..
But the narrator’s over the top, cartoonish delivery of a New York cop really grated. Shame because I enjoyed it in every other way

Struggled
Being a Brit I have always liked Lynda La Plante's work but I have to say,the chapters were long and I found it really difficult to finish it. Quite disappointed 😞 really. Narration didn't help as her voice was whiney & she struggled with the changes. was hoping for good things but quite disappointed.

Awful grating voice
Oh my! Story okay but the narrator is awful at some character voices. “Rooney” speaks/shouts as if he’s on army parade with someone holding his testicles and “Rosie” squawks like Janice from Friends. Several times I had to turn volume down when these characters were shouting/squawking.
