Summary
Combine an offbeat cast of characters with Murakami's idiosyncratic prose, and the result is the remarkable story Dance Dance Dance: high-class call girls billed to MasterCard, a psychic 13-year-old dropout has a passion for talking heads, and meet a hunky matinee idol doomed to play dentists and teachers.
Don’t forget the one-armed beach-combing poet, an uptight hotel clerk and one very bemused narrator caught in the web of advanced capitalist mayhem.

A lover of Murakami I struggled with the narration
I have given up on this performance for now I am not keen on the narration. I will try again. So don't take this review too seriously as it would be unfair to base a review on only a partly listed to audiobook.

Bizarre, as ever...
Another weird and wonderful rollercoaster ride from Haruki Murakami... full of fascinating characters, unbelievable settings and themes to disturb and amaze you.

Roller coaster but at peace at the end
I read this book right after Kafka on the shore. And I immediately got imersed in another fantastic world by Murakami. My first struggle came when I understood that this book was some sort of sequel from another book (wild sheep chase) . After 5h within the book I was wondering if I should just stop and read the prequel as I was afraid of missing some important details. In the end, I just continued reading. Second struggle came from the poor female voices presented here. I mean, do all female voices have to be high pitched and annoying? I was happy to see that as more female characters came along, some were really spot on...but other ones...ai ai...Anyway, my third and last struggle came when at a certain point of the plot, it was so obvious what was happening there that it became just impossible to read while the characters were clueless over it. Still, I got very surprised how it developed and finally got my closure in the final chapters, with an ending worth the reading. All and all, I highly recommend the book. I wonder though if my experience would have been different if I read the book instead.

Mystery and multi story heaven
I really loved this murakami book, so entrancing and multi layered. The narrator was really great as well, brought the characters to life without being cheesy like alot of others. Worth the listen it's so great

More superb storytelling from Murakami and Degas
Slow start, but increasingly mystical and atmospheric, the story weaves a series of strange events in one man's life into a compelling whole. Brilliant characterisation and writing by Murakami, superbly narrated by Rupert Degas. Again. Definitely going into my favourites file.

Dance Dance Dance
A story as good as The Wind-Up Bird Chronicles. I want David Lynch to turn it into a movie…
