Summary

On the run with the only piece of evidence to his sister’s murder, Chase Bishop heads to the strange town of Dark Hollow Lake, Tennessee, to track down the killer. What Chase discovers isn’t what he expects, and at every dark turn, the truth is even more twisted than the killer’s mind. Nearly running Chase over, Melinda Bradley’s guilt has her helping him search for his sister’s killer and uncover a bigger conspiracy in her hometown.

With every turn, they get tangled in one more murder and uncover secrets that might destroy the fast-growing feelings between Melinda and Chase. All clues lead to one person. But to get all the answers, they might have to risk their lives to expose the truth to catch the killer, who is much closer than they think.

Unexpected Happenings Right From The Start

This is my first book by this author, I liked it and the main characters and thought the author did an excellent job drawing us into Chase's story. He came home from one of his long haul trucking jobs to find Cassie his little sister dead. As their parents are both dead Cassie, who has some mental problems, had been left with a man they both looked on as an uncle. In an attempt to find out what happened Chase followed a lead that took him to Dark Hollow Lake where he met Melinda Bradley almost as soon as he arrived. She decides to help him in his quest and they form an undeniable connection whilst they experience so many unexpected happenings right from the start.

Chase discovers that he has a connection to this town, he can see people’s auras so he knows if they are lying and what they are feeling and as Chase and Melinda try to find Cassie’s killer other murders occur and you can't help but be enthralled by what is happening, murder, mystery, ghosts and spirits! What more could we ask for? Oh and as for the Mourning Cloak to find out what this is and discover what Chase and Melinda do you will have to download the book yourself, no more spoilers from me.

The storyline is good but is made even better by the narration of Daniel Caravetta who does an excellent job with all the characters.

I was given this audiobook as a gift and am voluntarily writing my review.
