A new threat from the past is rising, and only a handful of heroes remain to fight. Pursued by dark forces, Will and his allies must leave the safety of the Hall and travel to the heart of the ancient world, making new and dangerous alliances and revealing the shocking secrets of the past.

But Will is carrying a dark secret of his own—his true identity. Can’t wait for the next one

Now this is a good series! I preferred this to the first book. The characters more established and it felt looser and funnier somehow. Very entertaining and gripping

surprisingly better than the first book

i wasn't 100% sold on this series from the first book which i found reaaaally dragged in the first half, the second book pacing was so much more enjoyable to me! i think the stress of will trying to keep his secret is what kept me on my toes the whole time, i think will and violent's friendship developed a lot given everything and it was really tested. james remains the best part he is just a scene stealer. so glad this did not have second book syndrome can't wait for the third!!!

*chefs kiss*

Like her Captured Prince trilogy, the first book is all about set up and the second book is where all that delicious mise en place become a glorious meal. Just om nom nom nom. and now to wait for dessert.

Bro.

I'd recommend everyone this book, this series. It's amazingly good. I don't really like dark books or stories, but this one goes absolutely above and beyond. Narration is also the best I've heard.

Love the plot

I love Pacats stories. There are no black and white perception of heroes and foe here. It might be the initial impression you get but you'll find yourself fooled and disappointed if you expect that to continue. This is so cleverly crafted and executed.

The story is epic and I have no idea where it will go from here. Any direction would honestly be okay as long as I get to read the next book.

Only disappointing this about this second book is its relative predictability. For me it became clear about half way through where we were going for the ending of book two and in that situation the book feels a bit long.

Terrific stuff...

5 stars once again from this listener for Christian's narration. Complex, this second instalment in the trilogy has darker undertones, but is absolutely riveting nevertheless. Why will no-one believe Will? Book 3 eagerly awaited.
