Summary
I am going to restore my reign over both worlds.
First, with a pen.
Next, with a knife.
Remind them who sits on the throne of this concrete jungle.
Repair the structure that was shattered when my Mia Bella was stolen from me.
Revenge will be had.
Restitution received.
And for me to reestablish order, I will do whatever is necessary.
For there is no cost that is too great.
For there is no distance that is too vast.
For there is no sacrifice that is too sizeable.
I am a different man because of the only woman I'll ever love.
And that man is more dangerous than anyone could've ever predicted.

So totally worth it
I highly enjoyed listening to this novel. It kept my attention through until the end. The narration fit the story well, and was really well performed. Loved it.

WOW!! Beni and Chantel!!!
What an ending to this duet. Picking up where we left off in the first book, the suspense is high and so is the passion! These two are definitely meant for each other. This book is full of ups and downs, surprises and excitement. We don't know who to trust, but we know that Chantel is a force to be reckoned with and Beni's love is so fierce, nothing will stop him from finding her and keeping her safe. But these two aren't the only characters I love. Miko proved to me what family and true loyalty can be. He is quite the man, and won my heart. Xavier Neal pens this story with strong women(yes, there is more than just Chantel) and I love that they cannot be controlled, are fearless and smart. It's always a plus for me. If you love lots of action, incredible fight scenes, and spice like no other author can write, than grab this duet. It will keep you on the edge and have you falling in love.
Joy Beharie and Tom Haire finish out the duet with their fantastic performances. I love these two together, as they compliment each other. Beharie brings out the strength in Chantel, letting us know that you don't mess with her. I love it! Haire has his Italian down, melting my heart and romancing us with the flow in the story. This is my kind of listen and it's one you shouldn't miss.

Mafia romance!
We get to pick up where we left off. Beni is determined to find his one and only love. Chantal is so much stronger in this final book. I love strong women characters and Chantal was so much more powerful when she needed to be. This one was so much more graphic with the mafia dealings and showed just how perfect Beni and Chantal are for each other. Beni stopped at nothing to find her! Chantal took time getting past all that happened to her but with the help of Beni’s Mom and her confidence that her son and Chantal are destined for life, plus having the perfect ally and strong love of Miko to support them, made this duet amazing entertainment! This was such an exciting book to experience through professional acting. Making me wonder why anyone reads anymore 😂 Audiobooks are books brought to vivid life. And Joy and Tom were great!

My Thoughts on Dark Reign
This book was not the ending that I was expecting. And if I am honest, it might be more so that it wasn’t quite the ending that I was hoping for. But I can’t say that I am unhappy with the way the duet was wrapped up. Thus the four stars. All the primary plot points that needed to be resolved for Benicio and Chantal were resolved. I liked the way that the overall issue was more layered and complex than I was thinking. There were definitely surprising and unexpected aspects to it. I liked that part very much. I also really liked that the situation between Benicio and Chantal wasn’t immediately resolved the moment she was rescued. It would have felt a little too easy and in all honesty wouldn’t have sat as well if there wasn’t some struggle involved after everything she’s been through. Everything they both had been through while apart. So I really appreciated that the author made sure to deal with that in a way that was a bit more believable. And I’m not going to lie, I really loved Chantal getting her moment of shall we say vengeance. I think in all honesty I was hoping for things to work out a bit differently with Miko. And while I absolutely feel like I enjoyed the authors writing style and the flow to the story as a whole, and I know I wouldn’t hesitate to try another book by this author, I honestly feel that the way things worked out on that front lessened my enjoyment of the story a little bit. The narrators once again did a good job. I feel like I enjoyed their performance about the same as last time.

Beni and Chantel!
Beni is devasted about what happened to Chantel and determined to get her back. He will find her, rescue her and ensure that those who are responsible will pay the ultimate price. Chantel shows that everything she has endured has only made her stronger, more resilient and that she and Beni as a team are a force to be reckoned with.
The chemistry between them has only intensified, the love between them stronger, the loyalty to those they love unbreakable, the emotions that much more fierce, the suspense keeps you on edge and it still has some humorous moments which only makes the story that much better. The story of Beni and Chantel is one you don’t want to miss. The narrators were a perfect choice for the characters as they brought out the passion in their relationship as well as the emotion and suspense of the storyline. 🎧 Audiobook Obsession

3.5 stars
I liked this book better than Dark Ruler which was the first book in the Bennett Duet. Dark Reign had twists and turns that I didn't see coming. Miko was my favorite character in the story but his ending was somewhat unclear. I may have to research if he has a spin-off series or book which focuses on him instead of Benicio and Chantal. Joy Beharie and Tom Haire both did a good job bringing this story to life.

Dark Mafia Romance
Dark Reign by Xavier Neal is a dark mafia romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Joy Behare and Tom Haire. This is the second book in The Bennett Duet.
Xavier did a great job wrapping up their story. Benicio and Chantal had a lot of struggles to get through to get their happily ever after, but you couldn't help but root for them. I really enjoyed getting both of their points of view throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.
Joy and Tom did a great job on the narration. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.
I would recommend this series if you like dark romances, mafia romances, or romantic suspense.

Fantastic from start to finish!
Dark Reign is a fantastic addition to The Bennett Duet. I may have enjoyed it even more than the first book. Xavier Neal's characters are very well-developed, appealing, and captivating. The storyline captured my attention immediately; it was exciting, intense, suspenseful, dark, and perfectly balanced with intrigue, drama, romance, passion, and scorching HOT steam. The twits and turns had me on the edge of my seat, wondering what was coming next. Chantel and Benicio's chemistry was off the charts, and I enjoyed every moment of their journey. Seriously, can't wait for the next Xavier book; I'm hooked on her stories.
The narration is outstanding! Joy Beharie and Tom Haire's portrayal of the characters was flawless. They captured the nuances of Chantel and Benicio's personalities, emotions, and connection, making their story even more engaging. Dark Reign is a wonderfully written Mafia Romance and so worth the listen. I'm definitely recommending the Bennett Due to all dark mafia romance enthusiasts.
