Zu dem ist einmal im Winter um Mitternacht ein unbekannter Mann gekommen, hat am Fenster geklopft und gerufen, der Schmied möge aufstehen, er habe mit ihm etwas zu reden. Der Schmied ist aufgestanden und hat gefragt, was er wolle? Da bat ihn der Mann, er möchte mehrere Hufeisen nehmen und mit ihm zum „Engelkreuz“ gehen und daselbst sein Ross beschlagen, weil es ihm fortwährend ausglitsche.
