Loved the narration of Roberto Scarlato, who brings the characters, drama and suspense to your ears.

After her parents and older brother are murdered Lily DeLuca returns home to take her rightful place in the family. Her other brothers Dino and Theo have been in charge. Getting home finds out she is to be married . The arrange marriage is to Damien Rossi, the Ghost of the Outfit. Damien owes Dino and he now is calling in his marker.
Lily is very much against the marriage. Letting Damien know in no certain terms. Damian loves the feistiness in Lily, both have a similar past. Slowly these two find common ground, attraction and love.
While Damien and Lily have found a path, everything else around them is spiralling out of control.

I read a lot of mafia books but this one, while having some of the same tropes and themes, wasn't at all cookie cutter. I loved all the twists and am ready to dive into book 2!

The narration was excellent. The overall voice was perfect and smooth and the variety of accents well done.

Note: while not a serious cliffhanger, the book does end with a lot of unraveled ends and plenty of interesting ways the story can go.

This book just set a new standard for me. It was brilliant. It had so much depth to not only the storyline but the characters themselves. You can loose yourself in this world. Become entangled and enchanted by the characters and their stories. Not only was there amazing romance and passion, there was mystery, suspence, love, betrayal, history and an uncertain future. I am so caught up in this story I will be needing so much more!!

The narrator may just be one of my new favorites. He was fantastic. His voice is perfect for this book and these characters. I need more of him too!!

Audiobook review. This story was refreshing because the lines between good and bad, right and wrong were blurred. I was absolutely hooked by the plot and the mechanics of this Chicago mafia world. The characters were fleshed out very well. Their personalities, motivations, and actions were carefully crafted to fit a bigger piece into a puzzle I’ve yet to figure out.

Damian was a man who thought he knew his place in the mafia world but soon found a different purpose. Lily couldn’t control her own destiny no matter how much she wished to, but once she opened herself up, she and Damian were able to form a connection. I liked their chemistry. Damian’s dirty talk was 🔥.

The narrator, Roberto Scarlato, was a great fit. He transitioned well between both voices and maintained a strong quality throughout his narration.

Well I am just going to say it...This has got to be one of THE BEST Mafia Romance stories that I have ever listened to.
I absolutely LOVED it and it had me enraptured from the start,it could be a movie it is just so so good and realistic.
What also made it Amazing was the Narration by Roberto Scarlato,his voice was just perfect and smooth and so pleasing to the senses.
I LOVE his voice and he did an excellent job at portraying all the characters I am looking forward to discovering more of his Narrations.
The story follows four families within the Chicago Mafia and the war that begins between them.
This is Damian and Lily's story.
Damian Rossi owes a debt to his friend Deano and now it is the time to pay that debt..Deano is going to prison and needs to take care of his family before he goes...He wants his sister safe and so she needs to marry and the ideal man is Damian..Marry Lily and the debt is paid.
Lily DeLuca has been travelling for years and now she is bitter that she has been called back home by her brother Deano.
She Hates Mafia life and thought she had escaped it by being free to travel,but no now she has to marry a man she doesnt even know...The Mafia is brutal to woman they have no voice and no choices and have to just except their fates.Being married off to anyone to benefit the family and arranged marriages are normal practice.
Lily is Angry.! she does everything to show her displeasure..but as time goes by Damian charms her and she begins to like him...And surprisingly to Damian he also begins to care for Lily and it no longer becomes an obligation..Damian wants to protect her willingly and they are attracted to eachother their intimate times are explosive.
There is a back story along with the romance deception,murder,feuds..etc As Mafia life is dark,violent and dangerous,and when you are born into that life there is no escaping it.
Bethany Kris has created such a captivating story her writing is excellent and the story so clever with its twists I thoroughly enjoyed every minute I spent listening to it.
I cannot praise Deathless and Divided enough and would give it so much more than just 5 stars if I could.
Absolutely Brilliant book.

Omg I need to find and throttle Bethany! This book is amazing and I now NEED book 2! It has such highs and lows. So much emotion. Written very well and Roberto? Well there’s a sexy as sun voice that totally belongs to the mafia characters. Excellent narration Roberto.

This book was such a great start to the series. I loved that Lily was such a strong character and fighting family expectations and an arranged marriage. Damien wants to be a ghost in the mafia but he gets brought into the spotlight. Now they are finding each other at the beginning of a mafia war.

I've listened to a few performances by Roberto Scarlato, and he always has such a solid and smooth narration.

Bethany-Kris is a mafia master story teller. This book has all the feels, all the emotions and keeps you captivated. Roberto Scarlato did an amazing job. This story is so good. You can’t put it down. A definite must listen. I absolutely cannot wait for book 2
