Summary

Brought to you by Puffin.

Magic meets mythology in this explosive trilogy of short stories from Rick Riordan.

When a mysterious magical disturbance draws magicians Carter and Sadie Kane to New York, they meet another pair of kids with abilities as incredible as their own: Percy Jackson and Annabeth Chase!

And it's no coincidence that they've all been drawn to the Big Apple. A crazed sorcerer, Setne, is stirring up double trouble, unleashing dangerous creatures from both Greek and Egyptian myth.

With Setne determined to devour the gods themselves to obtain the gift of immortality, demigods and magicians must combine their powers to stop him, before it's too late . . .

Features the three short stories The Son of Sobek, The Staff of Serapis and The Crown of Ptolemy.

Much enjoyed mash-up

My boys (aged 11 and 9) have both read bits of the Kane / Percy Jackson series. They really enjoyed listening to the two worlds collide - although it has to be said, they liked the story that involved the boys best, rather than the one where the two sisters meet (obvs!).

These short stories are basically setting the scene for a mash-up 3 book series, and I for one would be happy to get it for the boys. Good clear narration, mild peril, interesting historical facts and (for once) a not-too-clever boy in the lead. Which is nice.

Better than Magnus chase the Kane cronicals Percy Jackson and the hero’s of Olympus!!!

It’s the best book by far ahead of every other series! I loved how there was 2 chapters of how they met 1 about how Carter and Percy met and the other about how Sade and Annabeth met. Then I loved how they all met and took back the crown of tolomy. I wish Rick Riordan made a new book and they meet Magnus chase the romans and all the other demigods and magicians.

A natural progression to combining great charature

we really loved these stories, two worlds, four heroes ..complementary in attitude and ability, doing what comes naturally. We would love to see the Kane Chronicles and these stories on the big screen or Amazon fire. We love the history combined with great story telling. A pleasure to listen to, read and watch. Thank-you Rick for giving my son a passion about Egypt and Greek mythology. Gods, monsters, mystery and combat, the stuff of legends xx

Amazing book but could be longer

I really enjoyed listening to this audio book and it was a pleasurable way to finish of a day and one of the best crossover books I have ever read (listened to) but alas, it was much shorter than many other books and I would love more but I would recommend this book to anyone who likes fantasy books and has read the other books in the Percy Jackson universe. Overall a good book.

Percy Jackson and the Kanes' mash-up

Three action-packed adventures which are linked together. Fairly short for a Rick Riordan book but worth it. Riordan reads the first two and a professional narrator does the final one. While Riordan did a good job, no doubt it was good to have a narrator for the final one though he couldn't do Sadie's British accent - a shame as that would have added to the enjoyment of the crisp and witty banter between the four protagonists. Would love some more of these adventures but doubt we'll get them.
