About this listen
Editor reviews
Have heard the first two ones several times now though, and enjoyed it each time again!
Great to listen to!

Where does Der Name des Windes (Die Königsmörder-Chronik 1) rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
At the top. I first read the book in 2010 and have read it in print in English many times since. I was surprised that it was translated into German quite well (with a number of choices I wouldn't have made, admittedly): usually, German fantasy is not my pot of tea. The narrator chose the right warmth of voice, the right pace for the story. Just wish they'd adapted the scene in which they talk in strong dialect properly - would have made sense to translate it from regional English to a Bavarian or Austrian dialect instead of high German. What did you like best about this story?
The Name of the Wind is a story celebrating music and the love for knowledge. It deals with scraping together high university fees and finding your place in life. It's written with love and great attention to detail. One of my favourite books read beautifully
