About this listen
The king is dead - and with him, the last thread holding the kingdom together.
Deep cracks are forming throughout the kingdom of Nri with whispers of deadly successors lurking beneath the shadows. Despite having the same face, it seems the deepest crack is forming between Naala and Sinai, the reunited twin goddesses, who must put their differences aside as they travel through a broken Nri.
Unbeknownst to the girls, their use of the mystical Ṇdu crystal has awakened mythical beasts and the lost gods, each returning to Nri one by one. One thing is clear, the twins will have to face enemies at every corner of the kingdom...one of whom lies hidden amongst those they hold dearest.
As ongoing turmoil spreads throughout the kingdom, the daughters of Nri must unmask the true face of their enemy, as they discover that their unique blood has marked them with magic strong enough to restore true peace to the world - a task only they can complete.
But with beasts lurking far and wide, will they be able to do so before the kingdom succumbs to its looming curse?

Absolutely Brilliant, Highly Recommend!
I loved the first book and this did not disappoint, I really enjoyed the character development and the narration was equally as brilliant. Crossing my fingers there's a new book in the series soon!

So good.
It is so wonderful to have a story whose main characters are from Africa with African God's and goddess's. I am really looking forward to the next book.

Good
Between Audible having this as part of my subscription and then canceling it while I'm listening but faster than I can finish it,then waiting until my new credit came in, the house sitting I've since done, I've found I lost the flow of the world and story. I have tried not to let that effect my review.
I did enjoy it.
I see there is a next and I look forward to it.

I adore them
Amazing! Definitely got all the action I wanted from the first one. I’m so loving following the girls and their friends as they learn more about themselves, their magic and each other.

Great narration
The narration was amazing and the story was okay. I really enjoyed the first book, so I rushed to buy the audio and kindle version of the second one. Unfortunately, I felt like something was missing with this story. I found I was constantly losing the flow of the story and that certain chapters had to be re-listen to, as I found myself subconsciously no longer listening to the plot of the story. Nevertheless, it is always amazing to read stories where the main characters are powerful black women. I’m assuming there will be another book due to the open ending and I’m sure I will read that one to.

Interesting lore, but the story feels loose
The narrator does it very well, but the story feels, to me, very loose and at times, not entirely coherent.
Details seem to be skipped, so one quickly lose track of who has what and whether they still have it.
I did not feel like I had any connection to any of the characters and found, that I didn't really like any of them, but that might just be me.
I really like the lore these books have, but it but that alone can not make me recommend them.

Make this into a movie!
Easily one of the best books I have ever read. Disappointed it came to an end. I am stopping myself from contacting the author and asking her for part 3 or if she is in talks with a director.

Enjoyed!
The narrator is wonderful and making the characters come to life.
The language is rich with texture and images from the African folklore and myths from which some of the story is derived.
I loved it.
