About this listen
Sera leads a simple life.
A little smuggling, some drinking contests, and captaining her star freighter, Sabrina. But when she picks up a mysterious shipping container on Coburn Station, things begin to go wrong. She finds herself at odds with The Mark, a dangerous pirate organization that wants the cargo on her ship.
Inside the container she not only finds a woman, but a secret thought lost millennia ago. The woman is Tanis Richards, and she knows the location of the Intrepid, a missing colony ship from humanity's golden age.
Sera knows how to help Tanis and the Intrepid. But to do that, she will need to reveal a secret that will pull her back into a life she left long ago. A life from which she was exiled in shame and disgrace.
Tanis doesn't trust Sera; and Sabrina's rag-tag crew is nothing like what she's used to, but she's going to have to rely on them to avoid capture and get back to the Intrepid. As Tanis and Sera battle pirates and interstellar governments, the two women forge a friendship that will forever shape the destiny of humanity.

Enjoyable but too much detail.
It’s a really enjoyable story but sometimes I felt like the author went into too much technical detail about how space ships worked and how travelling on space works. I feel like it slowed the story a bit.

Surprisingly decent
Performance good. Clear speech and characters.
There seem to be a lot of *fairy godmother* AIs around scifi at the moment. With a wave of electronic hands they do everything for the protagonists and rescue every situation. I am pleased to say that these deux ex machina are restrained in this yarn.
Characters are decent as is an unusual setting where people from history have the better tech. Story moves along nicely. Not brilliant but a lot better than some of the dross on Audible

bad accents
Good story though I could do without the excessive location natter at the start of each chapter. The narrator needs to stop attempting accents, she simply isn't capable of pulling them off.

Big bang to start with is good.
I like how the story started out and quickly exploded in the first book straight away. Enough was kept to keep the listener wanting the rest of the series. All round good narration and world building
