Seit Jahren beobachtet Yasmina Reza Strafprozesse. Es sind Geschichten, die man mit angehaltenem Atem liest. Ein Mann ermordet die vierköpfige Familie seines Schwagers und legt die Leichenteile seiner Frau zu Füßen. Eine Frau klagt wegen Vergewaltigung und schreibt dem Täter danach glühende Liebesbriefe. Lakonisch und beinahe zärtlich porträtiert Reza die Menschen. Es geht nicht um Schuld oder Unschuld, sondern um den Moment, in dem ein Leben aus der Normalität kippt. Ebenso knapp und eindrucksvoll erzählt sie von persönlichen Begegnungen mit guten Freunden oder in der Familie. Reza zeigt "die Rückseite des Lebens, in seiner Unvollkommenheit, aber auch Heiterkeit". Ein Meisterwerk voller Tragik, Komik und Empathie.

It must be me, but just did not understand what this book is about, apart from reports from the court in relation to DV incidents. These stories are then intercepted with other stories ( from the authors life?) , with no context, no explanation ,nothing. The writing and translation from the French is beautiful, the reader does a great job, but the content is not for me. I normally give an audiobook two hours here I tried nearly three, but for me it was a waste of time.
