About this listen

Dilly is devastated: with her husband unable to work and four children already at home, they cannot afford to feed their newborn baby. Heartbroken, she delivers her baby girl to the Farthing family, who have just lost their own daughter to measles.

This act of desperation will change the lives of both families irrevocably. But when the chance for true love finally comes, will Dilly choose family over her own happiness?

Easy listen

I enjoyed this book but found the voices a bit hard to listen too sometimes, a bit high pitched. The story was great and insightful of the era.

A good old faithful

A great story of just how hard times were back in those times. Saying that it wasn't predictable because just like life everyone has their own family history. It was a great listen. Just a note, I did have to speed it up a tad as it was too slow iny opinion.

Lovely

I enjoyed listening to this story about two families, each with different lifestyles, and how their lives became drawn together. I found details of WW1 very sad and the story ended too abruptly that i wonder if there may be a sequel!
