An unabridged reading of this classic novelisation of a Sixth Doctor TV adventure.

Disturbed by the time travel experiments of the evil Dastari and Chessene, the Time Lords send the Second Doctor and Jamie to investigate.

Arriving on a station in deep space, they are attacked by a shock force of Sontarans, and the Doctor is left for dead. Across the gulfs of time and space, the Sixth Doctor discovers that his former incarnation is very much alive. A Classic from Colin Baker

Colin read well as storyteller, both Doctors, Peri, Sontarans, and Oscar. Worthy of Shakespeare.

terrific adaptation

A terrific adaptation that improves on the televised original in almost every way. There are abundant new details that enliven an already sparkling script, and a strong sense of mystery and menace that pervades throughout. Colin Baker's performance is a gem - a little rough when essaying impressions of Jamie and Peri, but smooth and vital when performing either of the Doctors or (even more effectively) Shockeye o' the Qwanzing Grig. This book has lost none of its considerable sheen since its publication in 1985, and Baker's considerable charm and charisma lends the work new life. highly recommended.
