Summary

Beautiful sad book

I loved listening to this. Narrator is perfect - clear and precise so that you can hear every word. The simple facts of this story are related in such a way that you feel right there in the places Modiano so lightly sketches - merely a street name seems enough to evoke a place and a time and to conjure a ghostly sense of something familiar yet heatbreaking. It hurts to read this, it leaves an ache. Through the delicate yet insistent language the writer draws you in to something ephemeral, precious and shocking. An absolute gem.

Quel dommage

Quel dommage

What a pity the producers have suppressed the lists of names from Modiano's text. Let's hope a full audio recording is available soon.
