Fantastic worlds

Fantastic fantasy world where dragons and witches use their abilities to create a better life. I love this idea of doing everything to achieve this vision, but as always there are some who seek power and are only interested in ruling over others. The author impresses with her ability to keep attention until the end and increase the tension. I love the struggle to find the right way to understand and support the other.
The narrator is really good at interpreting the mood of the situation and drawing the listener into the story.
This book is for fantasy lovers, looking for impressive worlds where dragons and magic can be found and the values of life have their place

Three trilogies immersion in YA dragons & magic.

There are three seperate trilogies in this title, each with its own heroine, but leading to a deeper immersion and understanding of Ragond, its mages, witches, mythical creatures and dragons. It amounts to over 95 hours of listening and it has taken me nine days to complete, even at increased speed. I enjoyed it all and hope you will too.

The first trilogy is titled Ragond's Portal War and comprises: Dragon Link; Dragon Rebellion and Dragon Alliance. It tells of 16 year old Nova and her good friend, Zephyr going through a portal connectiong Earth to the dimension of Ragond where dragons and magic exist as part of everyday life. The two orphans find their destinies and also something about themselves through the story arcs. They face internal and external conflict as well as peril from unexpected sources. Issues of trust and prioritising relationshipos arise and are resolved in a satisfying way. The link with dragons is central to their resilience.
The second trilogy called Reaping of Ragond also features a teenager grieving for her stepfather and embarking upon a quest to save his ailing dragon. Kira also has internal and external conflicts and forges a relaionship with an unexpected ally against forces who are not what they first seem. Forging a link with a dragonis central to her story. Her choices between personal and greater good loyalties are exposed and, again come to a satisfying conclusion.
The final trilogy is titled Ragond's Witch Hunter with: Dragon's Mage; Dragon's Protector and Dragon's Realm being the book titles. Yanna is also a 16 year old girl, but she is part of a relentless witch finding family on Earth working to eradicate magic. The portals linking Earth to Ragond and other dimensions with alien traditions have become more numerous and unstable. Yanna becomes trapped in Ragond and attends the Stonehaven academy where she learns more about herself, her powers and where her loyalties lie. The time differences between realms are explained and the resolution of peril and conflict faced by our heroine is satisfying.
Having lauded the author's imagination and skill, I must make special mention of the narrator, Rebekah Nemethy, who did a consistently great job of voicing the meaning and emotions together with distinguishing between dragons, humans and mythical beasts as well as male and female.
