About this listen

Accepting his dragon-shifting birthright will place a mark on Theo’s head. Can he level fast enough to survive?

Separated as a child from his family, Theo has always had a feeling that he’s made for something bigger than the suburban life he seems to be headed for. When a bully threatens his best friend, he can’t help but step in the way. The problem is that Theo’s just not much of a fighter.

Bruised and broken, Theo wakes up to a massive headache and what appears to be floating game text inviting him to become a dragon. While ludicrous, no matter how often he rejects the prompt, it simply returns. Knowing that his life can’t get any worse, he finally accepts...

And that’s when he’s finally exposed to the real world, filled with goblins, orcs, and dragons.

Having started at such a late point in life, Theo’s at a huge disadvantage starting at Level 1 and in extreme danger. As he soon learns from his squire, a woman who’s followed him in the shadows since birth, dragons are both jealous and territorial. The only way for Theo to survive is to embark on an epic quest to level up and to claim his rightful draconic heritage.

Drakon Prince is an exciting new LitRPG/GameLit novel from bestseller Jamie Mcfarlane, complete with goblins, dragons, elves, and orcs. The world includes game elements such as skill progression, user and weapon attributes, fortress building, soul shard currency, and much, much more for lovers of all things progression fantasy!

The book was great 👍 with a lot of action I suggest it to all fantasy fans but at times the voice for the main chat and other characters were the same but overall it's a good book

Amazing book

To be fair, I was looking for something to fill the time before credit day when I revisited this title after trying a number of times to add it unsuccessfully.
The story starts off slow and steady as you expect and puts you solidly in the world of tk. It does a fantastic job of making the transition from standard story telling to the litrpg with the world building and characters growing with the story at a steady pace.
I wish that there were a few less stat recounts as rather than being informative it became a tad more of a irradiation. To some degree I have to offset my irritation against what the genre is known for. So I'll put that down to a personal perspective.
All in all, by the end of the book I was disappointed that there was no follow up done yet. But ill certainly keep my eye open for it in the future.
The narrator grew in to the parts and became a rather enjoyable listen once he had got into the flow of the book.

quite a good listen

One dimensional to start. gets better half way through. Romance is cheesy 🧀
Would like to listen to sequel.

Absolutely gripping story from the start to the finish.. The author pulls you in and keeps you captive. The narrator was amazing he was clear and really enjoyed his different tones of voice.. I really hope that another book is written to continue this story..

Amazing

Bit slow and obvious, the romance also killed the flow and excitement but still loved it, I need more but now worried it might have been a one hit wonder as the authors more popular work seems to take priority, rightfully so of course, but a return to this series would be well received I feel!

Great read though and would highly recommend!

Next book?

I was Pleasantly surprised at how good this book really is, some annoying character mistakes but other than that can't wait to read the rest of the series.

Great book

A unique telling of a story in that it feels like a direct narration of a D&D adventure from one player characters point of view.
Sometimes the detail of the main characters progression in stats becomes a little repetitive but overall it’s ok.

Different, some good, some bad.

the plot is somewhat obvious, and very predictable, but still a good story. I actually found myself looking for time to listen. I would be happy to pay to read the sequel

somewhat obvious, but still a very good story

It’s an enjoyable book I wish his human form was used more besides just communication as it’s being built up every time he levels but goes on unused. And some other stuff but it is still a good read

Good
